DOTA 2 and CSGO was released 2012.

He doesn't consider those "proper" games.
And Dota 2 was released in 2013.

Ah I didn't mean to make it sound like DOTA 2 was released in 2012, just CSGO.

CSGO was remake and CS was originally a MOD of Half life.
DOTA is F2P game.

where is a real proper SP valve game??

You don't know what a remake is. CSGO and DOTA 2 are games and 2 + 2 is 4.

Valve worked with Hidden Path Entertainment to make CSGO. And for DOTA they hired new people too, no? So what have they been doing since Portal 2? I mean, knowing Valve, they probably have scrapped several HL3 versions.

From what I can tell Hidden Path didn't really do anything major on CSGO. They were hired to patch and maintain a console version of CSS, but then Valve turned it into a new game.
The bulk of Dota 2 was still made by Valve. The people they hired (really only have heard of one, the frog dude) acted more as advisors.

But sure, they likely haven't been working very hard on making new games, seeing as they've been expanding quite a bit on hardware 'n stuff lately.

To say they've abandoned it is silly, though (not necessarily pointing at you).

how did i miss Odin Sphere on PS2?
I just finished the remaster demo on ps4 and it was awesome.

They are not working on anything they are digital distributor company.

Do not lose hope. Believe in it. Half-Life 3 will come. Not sure if we will be still alive to see it, but it will happen.

It should have been released in 2010 if they want to make. Handle franchise to someone else is only way we can see hl3

Source?

LOL @ Black-Cell's brain thinking his broken opinion of what dictates being a "proper game" is somehow objective fact. CSGO isn't a proper game because it's a sequel/remake to an older game, and DOTA isn't proper because it doesn't charge you an entry fee. GENIUS. FUCKING GENIUS!

I mean, you probably think Portal 2 - released four years ago - isn't proper either because it doesn't have headshots? RIGHT?! FUCKING GEN. I. US!

Man, that video must've been a bitch to animate.

While we're on it..

Best damn horror short.

Nice, creepy. You might enjoy this one as well (completely different though):

Wow! I loved that one too Skatellite!

Well, in the spirit of sharing awesome animated shorts, I'll leave you guys with some Little Quentin. This here film-noire with a twist is one of my absolute favorites.

I'm sure HL3 is already being worked on. People, myself included, said The Last Guardian would never come out and look what happened to that. It was re-announced and is launching this year. Valve's last big game (Portal 2) wasn't even that long ago (2011). I mean, Avatar took 15 years from James Cameron's inception to its release. People should stop moaning about the game. Valve should reveal it when they're ready. Not years in advance, making everyone lose interest as they continually tease new footage. I don't get why so many publishers do this. By the time MGS4 came out, I hardly cared anymore. I don't have overblown expectations, like a lot of these fools. I just want a good game. A game with identity.

Valve has made tons of money through steam. they dont need Half life to make them more money.
Half life 3 is not coming anytime soon. Valve is not game development company anymore but a digital distributor.

I'll remember this when Half-Life 3 is announced.

Good one, I love that style. Immediately reminded me of this short, if only because it's the only other film-noir short I know of. :P

^^Wow, that was awesome too. Love the art style.

Counter strike is not valve product. it was a Mod of Half life 1 which become franchise
DOTA was not valve franchise. it was WOW MOD
Left 4 dead was bieng made by turle rock studio who handle valve later

that left only portal which was short game a part of orange box that only get full fledge sequel.

I wonder if squarespace is one of the most successful marketing campaigns on the internet. At least in terms of what "vibe" it has with both the presenters and the audience. Like, the youtube channels that are sponsored by them seem to enjoy delivering the message and talking about it and the subscribers that watch the videos seem to enjoy it as well. I've even seen people in the comment section point it out if a video didn't mention squarespace, as if that was a bad thing.

It's a bit of an anomaly.

CSS and CSGO were both made almost entirely by Valve. That means all original assets, sound effects, and so on. Valve product.

Dota 2 is BASED ON a mod from WARCRAFT 3 (not fucking WoW). That means every single asset in the game is an original made by Valve. A product of Valve.

Left 4 Dead was mostly worked on by Turtle Rock, but story and music was made by Valve. A collaboration product.

Why am I still replying to you...

Dota 2 still uses Warcraft characters and art with different names. Why ARE you replying to him.

I'm interested in a Singleplayer mode in a moba (yeah i know contradicting).
How's Heroes of the Storm? has somebody experience with it?
whats the best moba anyway for you guys?

Zorlac:

No, it doesn't.
They're based on the originals, but all assets are unique. From visuals to sound.

Wow... David Bowie is dead. I usually don't care about celebrity deaths, but... wow. This one hurt.

I'm gonna listen to his new album. The music video for Blackstar was odd. I remember someone saying a few days ago that he must have searched deep for that... I guess he did, having cancer.

Yeah, at earlier stages of DOTA2 development, a lot of characters were really similar to those from WC3, however, in time Valve changed them because I guess Blizzard was not cool with that. It was kind of dissappointing to see how they replaced several great looking characters with boring humans in the same clothes.

I mean I guess you could play Brutal Legend by Double Fine and a couple other games like that if you just want to play alone...

I know, it really does hurt. Gonna watch The Hunger while working today to honor both him and Tony Scott. It sucks that the world will get no more new stories from either of these two geniuses.

I was never a fan, but the man rightly is a legend. Quite surprising, it's one of those people you either expect to die at the age of 27, or live forever.

My favorite concert (out of all the concerts I have ever seen) is Bowie's 50'th birthday concert where he does mostly songs from his Earthlings album with the vocalist from the cure, foo fighters and so on. It's so good.

Sad to see him go :(

Soo the HTC Vive pre-orders start February 29, no price have been announced yet.

I presume they'll probably sell two set, one with all the sensor, for the people that have space and one with only the headset & controller. This would be a good move for them...

The new Honor 5X phone interest me a lot and it's only 200$... but Huawei don't plan to sell this phone in Canada, which make me sad :(

Almost want to ask someone on GT to buy it for me and ship it to my place >.> (yes, someone is already to sell one on ebay, but for 304$ US, screw them)

They'll likely include the sensor in all of 'em, since it's super cheap. Some IR lights on a spinning motor.
And you can still use it sitting down. Helps with positioning 'n shit.
You also don't need a lot of room when standing. Just have enough so you can stand up and sit on your knees.
What matters is having room to move your arms around.

If anything, they should have versions without the motion controllers, for those who only plan on playing flying/racing sims, or just using a regular good ol' controller.

Nothing in your post suggests anything I said was untrue.

And your example is shit, because the simplicity of the character's design doesn't leave a lot to change. It's a water entity with arms.

No my example isn't shit at all. There's plenty of other ways they could have made him look to change him. Humanoid, some kind of beast, dragonic, ANYTHING yet they didn't. he looks exactly like he did in Blizzard's designs just a little updated. My post staight up proves you wrong. Just because you won't admit it doesn't make it untrue. Get over yourself.

Want another? The drow ranger is sylvannas, with slightly changed armor. Again something they could have completely changed yet they only went with minor cosmetic changes.

Hell the Dota 2 website STILL links to playdota.com for it's forum link. That forum still uses straight up Warcraft 3 artwork, and icons.

You can't honestly believe that valve did enough to change the characters away from Blizzard designs, or to separate themselves from Blizzard's artwork. No, they didn't. They simply thought themselves above copyright law, and took what they wanted and used it because they knew people would defend them like you are right now.
