Official Reccomendations Thread [Request or Reccomend Games]

Maybe GBA games should be taken off the list, since it's not yet regarded as "classic".

....I don't think OP's coming back to update the list anytime soon xD

EDIT:

Gregosa:

Yea, I don't really think the Game Cube should count either. While indeed there have been a great abundant of users here that frequently ask for recommended games regarding the console, I'd say such a list like that is well deserving of having it's own thread made from it in the Game Cube section.

SNES
Breath of Fire (RPG)
Breath of Fire II (RPG)
Ogre Battle (Strategy)
The Firemen (Action Adventure)
EVO The Search for Eden (Action RPG?)
Aerofighters (Shump)
Knights of the Round (Beat'em up)
Illusion of Gaia (Action RPG)
NBA Jam TE (Sports)

Nice list, it might be easier for you if you separate the lists into genres buy using the BB forum list system (using square brackets instead of, '{' & '}' ):

'{b}{u}Amiga{/b}{/u}
{list}
{*}Moonstone
{*}North & South
{*}Flashback
{/list}'

Amiga

Moonstone[/*:m]

North & South[/*:m]

Flashback[/*:m][/list:u]

You can eve create sub-lists within lists, like so:

'{b}{u}Amiga{/b}{/u}
{list}{list}{i}RPG{/i}
{*}Eye of the Beholder
{*}Dungeon Master{/list}
{*}Moonstone
{*}North & South
{*}Flashback
{/list}'

Amiga

RPG

Eye of the Beholder

Dungeon Master[/*:m][/list:u][/*:m]

Moonstone[/*:m]

North & South[/*:m]

Flashback[/*:m][/list:u]

Hope that helps, if you ever decide it's a good idea, dude.

There are a lot of missing games from the list, and I'm talking about the more popular ones. I would make a list what's missing, but the OP is probably dead, so it's pointless.

NES
Batman
Journey To Silius

I would like to add Legend [Beat-em-up] for the Snes.
Truly one of my favorite games for the system.

I love beat-'em-ups, but missed this one back in the day. On the wish list it goes! image

I recommend SNES game Ninja Warriors.

I would recommend Legend of Legaia for PSX, one among the best RPG's in PSX!

Do you think it would be possible to break out the different eras with different subforums? Like by generation or bit count or something?

PC:
iam always kinda sad no one mentions Albion...such an awesome game but so underrated (and it is legal and free today).[RPG]
Also same company as Albion: Schleichfahrt...man i miss the underwater dog fights.[Underwater "Space Sim"]
Again Bluebyte (man they had a lot of stuff out back then) the Settlers 2. Up to this day the best Settlers ever (the next generation remake is awesome...feels like the old...somewhat looks like the old and has LAN...just the music isnt the old).[WiSim]

Reccomendation: Nox (PC)
A game made by Westwood Studios. Nox lets you play as either a warrior, wizard or a conjurer. Each of these classes brings you down a separate storyline. For some reason this game is extremely overlooked and underrated. I loved this game back when I played it in 2000, and I still love it now. I highly recommend it.

those are the cream of the cream! (on the genesis)

Anyone with a Dreamcast owes it to themselves to check out Maken X. The localization may be terrible, but it's super fun and tough as nails. It's also one of a kind in a lot of ways.

And you can pick it up for under $10 easy!

DO IT!

I didn't want to make new thread so i just ask my question here.

For a long time i have been trying to recall name of a game that demo i used to play over and over and over again back in the days. Playable character of the game was this alien with green hair (the hair was either tentacles or it was "jamaican hair" style)

I remember that the first level was a jungle level where you fought against giant snails that had purple shell. Another level was winter level that had waterfalls.

It was a side scroll shooter but the kind of where you can go forward and back (not Contra styled)

EDIT: Oh, and demo was on pc but the game probably appeared on consoles as well.

And god damn. Right after posting this i found out that the game was called alien rampage.

Can anyone reccomend some good Famicom games? Preferably games that werent released in the US.

Front Mission 3 is on PSN. I'm interested in playing it, but I'm thinking of holding off since Square(soft) just put Xenogears on PSN, Vagrant Story was released yesterday, and I'm hearing Parasite Eve is coming to PSN as well. Is Front Mission 3 worth the download/install.?
