This week we've got a bunch of new content on the Nintendo eShop, with scheduled content headed our way. Two new games were released for the Wii U virtual console from the NES lineup:

Xevious
Solomon's Key

Additionally, it's been announced that you'll be able to download a demo for Resident Evil: Revelations on May 14th. Also, Chasing Aurora has been marked down by 50%, so if you haven't picked up this fun multiplayer experience, now is the best time to do so.

In other news, Mario & Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move is now available in the 3DS eShop as well.

Forgive my skepticism but I find it hard to believe that someone making a game in their garage know who to contact yet a bigger developer don't, fact is they flat out said they don't have any plans and aren't even using the devkits so why would they contact Nintendo to begin with?

I think the bigger the scope is, the better the communication has to be.
Also the point of indie is being independent and working on your own then putting out the final product.

Yeah your point? We've had loads of these indies have no trouble contacting Nintendo so a developer who has no plans for the platform claims to have communication problems something that developers like Capcom, Ubisoft and Activision who are supporting the platform seem to have yet encounter and bring up being big developers themselves, even newly formed Precursor are in constant communication with Nintendo. The mentioned 4 have reason to contact Nintendo as they have plans for the platform so what reason would a developer who has made it clear they have no plans for the platform be contacting Nintendo? Sorry but this makes me skeptical.

Can someone give me a run down of how I could go about paying the 1.50 to play Super Mario RPG in the enhanced Wii U mode? I'm not too sure about the steps

Also want to do the same for Super Star Wars

First you would need to have done the Wii to Wii U system transfer. If you can play the game via your Wii U in Wii mode then you're set. Next the game needs to be released on the U eShop. When it does and you go to tne games page the price should reflect the discounted price. Currently both Super Mario RPG and Super Star Wars aren't available on the U eShop unless I've missed their release.

Ohhhhh image I was hoping to just pay the 3.00 for both of them I didn't realize they also need to appear
On the Wii U eshop but that makes sense.

And yeah I don't actually own a wii so I was just wanting to transfer between wii mode to the Wii u but thanks for the info!

Ironic you try to face/palm when your post addressed nothing in the post you replied to which is the whole point, an attempt to gain ground which is no surprise given your previous posts in the forum.

ah... I wonder though. I sent an email to Nintendo for clarification. Currently Super Mario RPG is 200 coins for Club Nintendo assuming you're in the states. I wonder if you spent the coins would you be eligible for the discount when it eventually releases on the eShop even if it was through Wii mode and not an actual Wii. I'll post their reply as soon as I get it. If not you're just going to have to pay full price.

Thank you very much for that!

And yeah, I redeemed SMRPG through Club Nintendo, but I did buy SSW through the Wii Channel via Wii Mode, so I hope that can at least transfer over.

No problem. I'm just generally curious even if it doesn't pertain to me. I does look like you'd be eligible for the discount-

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_nintendo_eshop.jsp?menu=troubleshooting&submenu=wup-eshop-ts-vc-not-discounted

I'm willing to bet you'd be eligible for the discount with Super Mario RPG as well since Nintendo apparently refunded everyone that bought Super Metroid via Club Nintendo since it's set to be a 30c game which from the sound of it they basically gave the game for free to Wii U owners that had previously redeemed coins for Super Metroid. I know Super Mario RPG isn't part of the promotion, but it does make it seem plausible to be eligible for the discount even if you only redeemed coins for it.

That is not my intend friend, I'm only here discussing video games but if you're a fan of my posts or if you think that I'm wrong / sound stupid then you have to do a better job in explaining yourself rather than saying STUPID , IRONIC or ( is no surprise ) <-- implying that you know me ? ( That's CRAZY ! ) incase I've said something earlier then you need to refer to it cause I seriously don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
I know we're not friends but I'm just trying to be polite with you cause there is no reason to act stupid with each other.
We're two obviously passionate about video games.. You love when Nintendo piss on your face and tell you that it's raining and I'm sorry but I don't and I won't stop voicing my opinion.
If you're gonna be an ass / child and keep making stupid notes on every post I make without really explaining yourself then I'm damn right going to post silly images back at ya cause there is no point in discussing something after I have explained myself twice and you still kept a very childish attitude.

Is that fair ?

This goes to you or the fellow before you with the anime avatar.

Capcom says Monster Hunter on Wii U is a smash hit
Capcom's annual fiscal report shared some surprising information about Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate sales.

Capcom recently released their fiscal performance report, detailing which titles have done well for the publisher. Within it, Capcom stated that the biggest surprise for them was the sales of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U and that it's the latest title to join their "smash hits". The interesting thing is that Capcom notes most sales didn't come from physical purchases, but rather digital downloads of the titles.

"Furthermore, "Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G HD Ver.", which was our first title for the new home video console "Wii U" that was launched in December 2012, also became a smash hit. However, its package sales were generally soft."

While Capcom reported a 17.6% decline in profitability as a whole, this is great news for Wii U owners as it means Monster Hunter 4 will likely get more attention.

well i think it's safe to say that Capcom won't be dropping Wii U support anytime soon image

Hahaha fantastic TheRealGamer double irony with a post that indicates you take what people post here personally by losing your rag while claiming you don't. Here's a quick analysis of your post, you call me childish but are the first to insult, you claim to be polite with your second and next reply being contrary to this claim, a polite person would explain their point and not post a silly picture then come back raging you remind me of those players on the Starcraft 2 ladder who flip out when things don't go their way in the game I think it's time for you to take a stress pill and a quick nap to cool down.

Guess what sunshine when you reply on a forum expect a reply back that's how it works and if you have a recent history of posts that have had you called out then expect people to notice much like the many cock ups George Bush did or gaffes Nick Clegg has had. I explain my stance in my posts clearly whether you or someone else see's it as arrogant or what not then so be it just don't go around throwing your toys out the pram if you don't like it or don't agree.

Then again given your post here the pictures probably add more to the forum then anything you type so knock yourself out if it makes you feel higher then everyone else who doesn't share your views.

I said I'm trying to be polite cause stupidity isn't something I can tolerate and your level is toxic !
So I'm gonna just ignore you from now on to prove that nothing is personal.

Has any of you played any SNES game on the gamepad yet? I was wondering if the game fills the screed or if it has black borders.

i've got Super Mario World and F-Zero and i'm pretty sure there aren't any black boarders on the gamepad. hold on i'll check.

nope i was wrong. mario world has got black boarders but i hadn't even noticed till you brought it up.

It's a square in the middle of the screen.
If you want to get an idea how it looks.Play the video available on the game's page.

Thats pretty disappointing... really no reason to buy them on the Wii U then, i might as well just play them on the Wii =\

I wonder why they did that, not even a full screen option?

why would you want it full screen anyway? that shit would look awful being all stretched and stuffed.

i already can't stand playing old Game boy and Game Boy Color games in stretch mode on the GBA. it looks so bad.

Because that would stretch the image, ever played old GB games on GBA or DS and let it stretch to full screen? I think that looks bad a kinda wrong, you can't just take a 4:3 screen and make it 16:9.

EDIT
Dat Ninja Horse.

I play SNES games one my Wii, on my HD tv and they look great in full screen. 16 bit sprites have aged very well. I was looking forward to play them on that gamepad screen but i don't like black borders, i find them distracting.

Stretching any 4:3 material looks really horrible.
I did this with the first season of the office and I couldn't stand it.
Couldn't stand the square look either but after a while I got used to it then stopped thinking about it altogether.

When you guys play VC games on the Wii U trough your TV screen its stretched too, you don't play A link to the past on a small square inside your HD screen. It would or should downsample by using the smaller screen of the gamepad creating an even better effect. When i play ps1 games on the psp we have the option to use full screen and it looks great too. When Nintendo said they were making the VC games specific for the Wii U the first thing that came to mind was them making the game fit on whatever screen we use. I thought that is why they were charging wii owners a second time for the games they own, to optimize them for the Wii U.

But its ok, i was postponing buying ALttP until i got a Wii U but i might just buy that now.
