Re: Official Wii U Discussion Thread V: W11

thesnowdog:
Even if Sniper 2 for the Wii U does have co-op and online multiplayer I can't see it selling that well tbh, it's yet another late port. The only thing that will see it doing decent numbers is a budget price. That's what EA should have done with Most Wanted too. It's a bit pointless having a game released several months after the PS3 and 360 SKUs because by the time it's released those other SKUs are going to be half the price.

I'll be getting Most Wanted when it's around the 20 quid mark.

Yep. It's the same garbage we had to deal with with the Wii, late or shit port of games (sometimes both) and 3rd parties wonders why nobody buys them.

SpeedsMyGame:
Sonic Lost World has gotten me even more excited for the Wii U's lineup after July. Dis gun be good.

lordwindowlicker:
Finally, an updated Gamepad battery is being produced. It's only announced for Japan as of now, but that should change soon.

Is this the one you're talking about?

http://www.amazon.com/Power-Pak-Wii-U-Nintendo/dp/B00B48QAQU

Or is it an official battery upgrade from Nintendo??

I heard Nyko did a damn good job with the 3DS battery pack.

Nope

According to Joystiq (I think it was) Nintendo is making their own extended battery and kit to go with it.

I'm sure the new battery was planned jump street.

Managed to find a new copy of the original version of Skyward Sword complete with the Symphony. I've been looking everywhere for a USED; never thought I run into a sealed copy again.

Just use eBay? I have a copy somewhere here but I have no idea where the CD went to....

I also have the full CD that this is from:

Mmm?

Oh I've already got it now! That what I was saying! I was amazed to find one in stores but I did, new and sealed. Now all I need is a nunchuck image

Oh WTH Nintendo? No Megaman X for Wii U VC? Common... you have released only one VC game this week. Are you wanna releasing only one VC game per week? . .geee.

I don't know why they didn't release Mega Man X is Europe :/

Not that I would buy it but it's stupid to leave Europe out. I think I would buy X2 if they release it soon, I have it on the SNES but it's so awesome I wouldn't mind buying it again.

It must be some licensing issue, or something. I can't imagine that they'd ignore Europe, just cause.

They did release Mega Man 1 in Europe though.

Was playing X last night!

Does anyone else sigh at seeing people claim the WiiU gamepad is an expensive, useless gimmick and it is better to have a tradtional controller, only to see some of those same people go ga-ga over the PS4's mandate for Vita streaming gameplay?

Or when CoD is criticized for using the same engine but is ok for Naughty Dog for doing the same.

Making up stuff again?

How do you know it's the same people? All folk in the PS3 section think the same or is that only reserved for Ninty sections?

Remote play is not new, btw. The mandate is.

I only care about remote play if I can do it over the internet. Play EVERY PS4 game over wifi? This would TOTALLY change my mind about the Vita when I previously was a hater on it (the high priced mem cards).

I can see how kids would love this for the home but I never cared to play handhelds in the house and especially wouldn't care if I have a 60" HDTV I can play on.

I'd buy a PS4 and Vita in a heartbeat.

But at least ND does expand on their set peices. I just wish their games got more interesting as time went on. I loved U2 so damn much but U3 did nothing to expand upon it. It's like how the DMC or Onimusha games were. I love them so damn much but they do almost NOTHING to set them apart from one another. Just grew tiresome. I actually ended up hating U3 by the end of it. Couldn't beat it fast enough to trade it in. I think I traded it in for Never Dead? I cannot remember.

are you fucking serious nintendo?!

they deleted my comment on a guys miiverse post because i said "trollface" after a game trolled the poster. apparently "trollface" is a hateful comment.

fuck off nintendo you fucking nazis!!!!!

no what i get offended by is the fact that if i get enough strikes, nintendo will ban me from miiverse, possibly even my console eventually.

and most of the strikes are for things as stupid as that.

and no it wouldn't matter if it was spam. 99% of the bullshit on miiverse is spam. being crappy drawings, and fucking noobs wondering "why can't metroid crawl?"

no the only reason nintendo deleted the comment they said, was because it was a "hateful" post. really? fucking really?!?!?!. the admins on miiverse also obviously don't know what the fuck the internet is. you have to be a complete retard if you don't know what a troll, or trollface is by now.

Well, it's not the first time they didn't release a VC game for Wii U. They did the same thing with the Kirby games. They released 3 Kirby Games in the USA and if you buy 2 you'll get one for free.

I would by Super Ghost 'n' Goblins for the half price If could have bought Megaman X. But no. No chance in Europe to do so.

Quell your nerd-rage humble Yoshi-san.

The word 'troll' is hardly complimentary so I can perfectly understand their need to remove it.

Remember that MiiVerse is for everyone, including really small tiddlywinks. Ninty are just protecting kids from anything potentially harmful or derogatory.

Miiverse is essentially a nanny-state as it is a safe-haven from the usual negativity found on other social networks. I find it refreshing that Miiverse is so well policed & if I ever find myself in need of a more extensive & colourful dialogue with people then I simply have the option to peruse the entire internet via the WiiU browser.

In conclusion, Miiverse is what it is... a social medium with heavy censorship, it should never be an issue though because there are a wealth of alternate social networking sites available via the same device.

Here is the link

That's a pretty nice upgrade, hope they announce it here soon.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, I just purchased Super Metroid, Megaman X, and Ghost and Goblins.

Blast from the past, still as excellent as I remember. Virtual Console adds to the gamepads awesomeness.

Speaking of the gamepad, can anyone recommend a soft/silicon/rubber case for it? I got a hard plastic cover from my job because of the discount I get (plus it's the only one we sell -___-). One thing I do like about it is that it has a flip stand on the back, but I still use the dock in charger stand, plus this case makes the pad uncomfortable to hold after a while and I often have to take it off. Any of you guys cases, which do you guys recommend?

With the amount of administration on the Miiverse, it sounds pretty terrible.

It's not, people are polite on Miiverse and if you act the same way as you do here on the forums you'll never get a strike.

Except for Yoshi who said something like 'Troll' and had his comment removed. There is nothing harmful in saying that.

Yoshi though has already a record of rude behaviour there, maybe they have a list and are harsher to ppl on that list. I think it's good that it is moderated that much, makes it save for children and parents cannot complain to Nintendo. Just behave and you will be fine.

Eggzacklee.....I'm.....actually surprised he defended Ninty on that and that's with him being a fanboy. Huh?

I thought he'd say something like "Yeah that's a bit heavyhanded." Nothing too harsh but damn.

Instead we get a "mature" spokesman response as if he works for Nintendo.

earthman, you are a clueless dude. Check the common sense here and learn what context is. After reading your response it's actually quite sickening....really dude....really?

Yeesh.

I think you should get a warning for calling someone a troll.

Seriously? It's like most people in the Nintendo section of the GT forums have no sack. Oh no, I got called a troll, what ever shall I do? How about ignoring that shit and not giving a fuck.

There is no way Yoshi should get his comment removed for saying 'troll', Miiverse moderators are going way overboard, it wouldn't even surprise me if half the people from GT's Nintendo section are the moderators. I'm just not sure how so many of you can agree with the so strict censorship of Miiverse, if you really want that then go live in China or North Korea where they control what you see and hear.

Oh no someone was censored on the Internet...let me call you guys a whhhhaaaaaaaaaammmbulance

Many of us don't have a problem because many of us don't post silliness or in general just leave messages on Miiverse which can only be seen as polite or helpful as the are other places for everything else, if you have a reputation or tendency to not do either of these things then you'd have problems on Miiverse. As mentioned before the modding falls in line with Nintendo's broad approach and this basically means removing anything that may come across as uncalled for, yes it's totalitarian but it keeps Miiverse from descending into what Live has become over the past few years as the second people get away with one thing they start trying to push boundaries even further.
