Anger over Naples' refuse crisis took a macabre turn yesterday as residents awoke to find 21 tailor's dummies resembling Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi and town mayor Rosa Jervolino dangling from trees and lampposts.

At the Stadio Barbera Dejan Stankovic was stretchered off and Inter faltered, failing to score, although they hit Palermo's crossbar. With Inter slipping-up it was down to the chasing pack to make sure that they won their games.

Saturday evening saw Inter travelling to the Stadio Granillo to take on Reggina. Adriano scored his first of the season on a heavy pitch in driving rain.

Inter Milan win again in the Serie A, at home this time, 2-1 against Napoli. Cruz was Inter's hero of the night. He scored both goals for Morati's side in the first half of the game. Napoli pulled one back after Sosa's header late in the game.

There was a full set of games in Serie A this evening with a few surprises. At the end of the evening we have Roma and Inter on 11 points. Roma could only manage a 2-2 draw against Fiorentina; Mancini and Giuly scored for Roma, Gamberini and Mutu (penalty) for Fiorentina.

In a tight game in which three shots from Alessandro Del Piero found the woodwork, rather than the net, it was a goal by Antonio Di Natale that presented Udinese with a surprise win in Turin this afternoon.

The Italian Soccer League could be set for a fresh row over splitting TV rights and other revenue after the five most popular clubs walked out of a key meeting Tuesday.

Udinese came down to earth with a bump this week. After holding Inter to a one-all draw last week they hosted Serie A newly promoted Napoli.
