Newsvine - responsibility

Yesterday, it was the shooting in New York. A day or two before, the shooting at the nursing home. We're almost immune to the consistent violence in the news, unless it happens around the corner, or to our loved ones.

The party of NO doesn't like the budget but they won't offer an alternative budget. If they do offer one, they will do it just before voting on the budget begins and will want, cry, whine and stomp their feet because no one will take them seriously.

Democrats were pushing full speed ahead last week for the $410 billion bill to finance the government for the rest of the year. That's the one that increases discretionary spending by 8 percent and is loaded with 8,570 earmarks worth $7.7 billion.

The time is upon us where the terms "right" and "left", "Dem" and "GOP" are somewhat irrelevant. With the dawn of the Obama presidency it seems more appropriate to shape a backdrop that falls into "individualism" and "collectivism".
