Dog Owners Are Happier People

The study looked at 167 pet owners and 50 non-pet owners. They measured levels of happiness, depression and well being. They also questioned 56 dog owners regarding the support they get from their dog.

Pets aren't just things we feed and walk. They're living, breathing members of our family with personalities and the innate ability to provide a level of comfort no human ever could. Putting one to sleep is a traumatizing experience for anyone, to say the least. This I know.

Researchers in Peru said Tuesday they have discovered the remains of ancient insects and sunflower seeds trapped inside amber dating from the Miocene epoch, some 23 million years ago.
