This is an example of how you can use SMS text messaging to access basic SiteCatalyst reports. To begin, simply text “omnitext” to 95495. This will log you into a testing account. You can then reply “1” to get a traffic report, reply “2” to get a commerce report, or reply “3” to login to a different account. If you reply “1” or “2”, you will be asked to select a report suite from the current account. Reply with the number of the suite you would like to see. You will then be asked to select a time period. Reply with the corresponding number of the time period you would like for your report. You will now be sent the report that you selected.
If you reply “3” from the main screen to change your username and login, you will be asked for a new username. Reply with your web services username (this is different than your regular SiteCatalyst login. You can find this in the admin section of SiteCatalyst in the “user management” area). Next you will be asked for your web services shared secret (you can also find this in the admin section if you have a web services account). Reply with your shared secret. Your login information will be remembered for your phone number, so you will only need to enter this information once. In the future, when you text “omnitext” to 95495 you will be logged in with the last login you used.
If you get a message that says, “Service is temporarily down”, when you send a text message, simply send the same text message a second time. (This issue is in the process of being fixed).
