From the article: The real Republicans are the hardware store owners in Little Rock, the factory workers in Kentucky who believe in life, the retired aerospace workers in Palm Desert who are concerned about the moral decay of the culture. The wearers of cloth coats.
From the article: In connection with World War II the Supreme Court upheld the President’s authority to intern thousands of American citizens of Japanese descent on the off chance that some of them might be a security risk.
The President didn't overstep his authority but the Supreme Court sure did.
From the article: The reason you’re not seeing these people spring into action is that this case presents no opportunity for them to gain advantage in their various fights with the Bush administration.
From the article: The insurgency continues, and it is not going to be defeated militarily. But that does not mean we lose. Insurgencies can be undone by co-optation. And that is precisely the strategy of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
What a disgrace that they have to inject their stupid politics into a comic book hero. I've always liked Batman more anyway. From the article: But in the latest film incarnation, scribes Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris sought to downplay Superman's long-standing patriot act.
From the article: Dr. Gore made the bold assertion that global warming “is the only crisis we've ever faced that has the capacity to completely end human civilization.” Stewart correctly pointed out: “Nuclear's got a shot. The bomb's got a shot.”
From the article: Your next raise might buy you a more lavish vacation, a better car, or a few extra bedrooms, but it's not likely to buy you much happiness.
Government intrusion on our daily lives is quickly sliding down that slippery slope. It's not domestic spying or the Feds keeping track of international money transfers that you need to worry about its the health police.

Kevin is certainly one of the most prolific, outspoken, and eloquent conservative posters here on the Vine. Given the torrent of intelligent liberals here, it's good to see fellow conservatives that can hold their own in a battle of wits and facts.

Congrats on getting the Lifetime Achievement mark Kevin.
I would like to say that while Kevin and I defiantly do not agree on a lot of things, I think he is a sincere fellow. He almost always has a very well thought out position, and because of this he is absolutely worth reading.

Hah, I came here to leave a comment on Kevin B's column and I see my other favorite Conservative contributor here, James Mack. You guys are like a tandem pair of enforcers around the Vine, and I'm glad that there are users who have no problem holding their own, outnumbered as you are, on the most important issues facing us today.
Kevin, you do a great job of making me think about things from the contrary point of view, which makes me smarter all the time, even if we don't come to the same conclusion on every instance. Props buddy.
Keep it up fellas!
