Dear Brett,
I've decided to upgrade to a new computer, and I was wondering what I should look for in order to optimize ScottradeELITE on the new computer.
Thanks,

Dear Kristopher,
Would you explain a Stop & Stop Limit order for me? They can be very confusing.
Thanks,

Dear Todd,
I am a new ScottradeELITE user and recently decided to try Trade-Ideas to help me find stocks that I might be interested in buying. Is there anything I can do to make it easier to set up the screener?
Sincerely,
C.G.

Dear Kristin,
Is there a place I can go to learn more about ScottradeELITE and how to optimize the available functions? I enjoy reading your educational articles on how to use ScottradeELITE, however I would like to learn more about the specific functions I use the most.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Brinkman,
I've been hearing a lot about options, and I'd like to know more about them (I'm fairly new to trading). Why do people buy options? For example, how does buying an option compare to buying a stock?
Thank You,
Anonymous Trader
Dear Mitul,
Are orders sent to Scottrade routed elsewhere or handled by Scottrade?

Dear Patrick,
I read your recent Online Security Checklist article regarding the free McAfee® offer and how I can help to protect my identity from fraud. Could you give me more information regarding phishing scams? It seems like the financial industry is a popular target for it, and I want to be protected.
Thank You,
R.T.

Dear R.T.,
Phishing is a scheme that utilizes legitimate looking spam e-mail, pop-up messages and phony Web sites to deceive you into disclosing your personal information. "Phishers" gather personal information such as account numbers, passwords or even social security numbers to infiltrate your account or open new accounts using your identity.
One common way to identify a potential phishing scam is to check if the e-mail communicates a sense of urgency. For example, the phishing e-mail might warn, without prior notice, that your account will be closed or that your account information needs to be verified. This call-to-action is used to intimidate you into giving up your personal information.
Please remember that e-mail is NOT a secure method of transmitting information, and you should be extremely cautious about answering e-mail requests for your personal information. Scottrade will never ask you to disclose your account information or personal information in an unsolicited e-mail.
Below are some ways you can defend against phishing. You can also visit Scottrade's Security Center for additional information regarding online security and learn how to download a free one-year subscription to McAfee® VirusScan® Plus. The download also includes McAfee Site Advisor which tests and rates, on an ongoing basis, nearly every trafficked site on the Internet for a wide variety of Web safety issues such as phishing scams.
Ways to Defend Against Phishing
Because the threat environment is always changing, it is important to use current security software. Scottrade offers a complimentary one-year subscription to McAfee's VirusScan Plus and SiteAdvisor to help stop phishing, spam and other online threats.
I hope this information helps. If you have any questions about security and your ScottradeELITE account,
Dear Amy,
Would you please explain the concept of a trailing stop for me?
Thanks,

Dear Kristin,
I enjoyed your article in last month's newsletter regarding Exchange-Traded Funds. How do I go about finding a list of ETFs I might be interested in?
