Positions Shortcut
What's a quick way to close out a position?
collapse

There's a simple shortcut for closing out stock or options positions from anywhere in your account where your positions are listed (your home page, positions page, or the positions widget on the trading pages). Closing out a position means selling all of the stock you own in a particular company, buying to cover all of the stock you sold short in a particular company, or exercising an option contract.

From the positions list, simply click the quantity listed for a position, and you will be automatically directed to an Order Entry page that's pre-filled to close the position.
