Dear BG,
Great question! Scottrade is now hosting local educational seminars in many branches across the country. The seminars are FREE and focus on a variety of topics including an Overview of ScottradeELITE, an Introduction to Order Types and a Beginning and Intermediate Options seminar, just to name a few. Each seminar lasts about one hour and includes a question and answer period.
Registering for a seminar is easy:
- Go to www.scottrade.com (before you log into your account)
- Click the "Knowledge Center" tab at the top of the page
- From this page, you can search for seminars by city, zip code or topic category
- Once you find a seminar that interests you, click on the seminar title to register
All seminars are FREE and held at various times throughout the week. So go online today and find a seminar that interests you! You can also call your local branch office to register.

Dear Brett,
Thanks for the new backtesting function. Is there a reason it only goes back 15 days?

What is Market Capitalization?

Hi Paul,
Is there more to volume than just the amount of shares traded? I keep hearing "... the stock was up on heavy volume..." and I am not sure why that's important.

Dear Brett,
I've purchased a new computer and installed ScottradeELITE. Is there anything else I should be aware of in order to make sure the program works as well as possible on my computer?

Dear Paul,
I saw the announcement for your New NASDAQ Velocity® and Forces® in last month's newsletter. Would you give me a little more information on it? Like, what is it/how do I use it?

Dear Kristopher,
Would you explain a Stop & Stop Limit order for me? They can be very confusing.
Thanks,
