Targeting Audience Segments

Targeting Audience Segments

You don’t have to determine the one webpage that will work for every visitor to your site.  By segmenting->targeting user traffic you can deliver an experience with content relevant to the user.  Segmentation allows us to identify users groups with something in common, such as a registered customer, visitor frequency, affinity towards a product category, geography or traffic source.

For example, if a user visits a women’s apparel website and browses the shoe category you can then showcase shoe promotions when the visitor browses back to the homepage.

Another example is a newsletter sign up.  Once a user has signed up for a newsletter, why not use this real estate for something else?

I am an Optimizing Manager with the Omniture Digital division.  We are here to develop a testing strategy for your website, create and launch tests, analyze results and implement learnings.  We are a highly skilled group that has a passion for testing.  Our bottom line is to learn everything we can about your website and the users and to increase your ROI.

I will be covering the following topics at Summit:
Why should we segment and target?
How do I identify segments for my site?
What content do I target?

It would be great to get feedback on if you’re planning on attending and what other questions you may have.
We can start discussions here and finish in Salt Lake City.
