Uploading Sites

A list of uploading sites which are allowed:

We will no longer allow downloads which lead to sites such as Ziddu, UploadBox, Uploading.com, etc.


Here is a list of acceptable file sharing sites:

The rest is NOT allowed by BHT FORUM

-Add your VirusTotal.com report to "sharing threads"
-Uploading a text file of links to disallowed sites is ALSO not allowed

Please Do Not Monetize Your Shares. It's Against the Spirit of This Sharing Community.

Freebies are meant to be just that -- free. That's why the section is called "Freebies" and not something else. Freebies means there should be no strings attached to shares!

Examples:

1. Do Not Add Unrelated Filler Material to Your Uploads

Background

Some people are adding multiple MB of unrelated "junk" to their uploads. These are typically hotfile uploads.

Why? Certain share sites, including hotfile, will pay a commission to the uploader when people download the file.

Hotfile requires a minimum file size of 5MB to pay a commission. That is why it is typical to find a "junk" file of about 5MB in size in addition to the genuine file that is being shared.

Why It's a Problem

Forcing people to download MB of filler junk increases download time, makes it harder for users with slow internet connection to download shares and might confuse certain users as to why the extra junk is there. In other words, it decreases user experience. It helps nobody except the income of uploader.

It is not just prohibited to add junk files to shares. It is also prohibited to combine two unrelated programs, books or other files into a share just to increase the file size of the share.

2. Do Not Use Link Shortening Services, Especially Pay Per Click Services like Adf.ly

There is no need to use link shortening services on this forum. Plus, we don't want every share to have an ad attached to it. Forcing people to view an ad for every download just so you get paid a few cents is not cool here. You can do it somewhere else.

3. Do Not Force People to Fill Out Surveys or Other CPA Offers Before They can Access A Download

This should be self-explanatory.

4. Do not monetize downloads in other ways, either. Keep them free.

We're all here to make more money. But do it in the right place. Find a product or service that adds value and advertise it in the appropriate Marketplace section.

But don't try to "sell" or monetize downloads. It's just not cool.

Before you post a share, request or other thread, search the forum!! Don't post duplicative information!

• If the share has already been posted, don't post it again in a new thread. Feel free to post a mirror (another download link) in the same thread.

• If someone has requested an item and you also looking for the same item, do not request the same item again. One request is enough.

• Please post shares in Freebies (with a [GET] prefix) and Requests in Requests (with a [REQ] prefix. Freebies is where most people look for shares and a lot of people spend their time, so your share will benefit the most people this way. Do not share in the Requests section.
