What Issues in this world concern you the most
Well since we had the Oscar discussion thread. One consistent point brought up, was there were other more prominent issues in 1st and 3rd world countries than an award ceremony. I'm not looking for specific answers like racism or hunger for example (you can still state those things). Mainly, I think it would make a good discussion for everyone to be free to state the local and world issues that concern them the most. And not what they may think others would say is a bigger issue.
Inequality. The fact that some people can afford to buy 100s of yachts, and some people don't even have enough to survive for a day.
Every first world problem you can think off when the countries in the 3rd World need help, people are more concerned about the 1st world problems. it's bull shit

The price of JellyBelly jellybeans. I mean, really? Sure I'll pay, but I feel terrible every time. Oh. My. God.
if persona 5 and ff15 are going to have a limited edition and if i can get one in time before they run out of print
Same, people like Donald Trump and multi billion dollar corporations are a plague, unless something is done about them people will work 100 times harder for less than 1% of millionaire's actual earnings, and something should also been done about the idiots who blindly support these billionaires despite those very same billionaires contributing to their misery. And also the NRA needs to be liquidated, their existence is a burden to humanity..
TTIP to me personally. Second is huge wealth gaps, Skill(mostly doctors, surgeons, scientists) and technological process/artistic works should be rewarded, but for the CEOs of big business it just seems a tad much. Then ofcourse we have the refugee crisis, allowing them in without any restrictions could lead to problems. Especially in countries with a very high density like the Netherlands.
There are no Taco Bell in my country.
Overpopulation in combination with global warming. When it hits really hard, billions of humans will migrate from the deserted zones to the moderate climate zones, especially North-America, Europe and East-Asia.
Tons, but at this point the big one, and the one no one addressed....terrorism.
Terrorism is not a huge problem is my country, so meh
Yeah this. Overpopulation is a huge problem and one that no one ever talks about.. plus a lot of other problems stem from it. Global warming is pretty big too. I can't believe its still a political issue and that people don't think its important. At this point we might as well just figure out how to keep the rising seas back. I should have majored in civil/environmental engineering
The fact that the 62 richest people in the world own as much wealth as the poorer half of the world's population. Doesn't seem too fair.
Yeah this has to be a joke. Unless you are from syria, pakistan and such terrorism is not a big problem.
This will be not so huge, especially considering the seas wont rise that much. But extreme weather will become more common and especially the desertification will be a planetwide headache. Within this century human population will grow over 10 billions. Humans spread the most in the already poorest countries, where food is already rare. With the global warming growing food and feeding these people will become even harder. They wether starve or try their luck in rich countries with moderate climate. But these countries will have to protect themselves or they will go down as well. If we dont find a great solution for this, there will be massive wars in the future, for food, for water, just for essentials to live. Millions will get killed and the other billions just starve. And all that because stupid humanist standards believe its the biggest success of mankind to have a population number as high as possible. Humanist retards are a bit like sjw: They rather care for a high score, but they are too ignorant to imagine how real people have to suffer.
same Also trying to make Max Payne work on windows 10
^You guys aren't missing out on much.. except some quality bathroom time
Had to post. I haven't had any bad experiences eating at Taco Bell though. Maybe if I ever ate that burrito with all the sauces and cheese dumped on it, then perhaps I would have a story to tell.
if this guy can handle taco bell daily so can i!
Thats because its not really a big problem in the US or europe, if you look at the statistics it is hard to discern terrorist attacks from regular criminals, for example mass shootings happen quite often in the US, the only difference is white people did it and the media doesn't decide to blow it out of proportion, its really places like the middle east that should be concerned with terrorists (although I'd argue civil unrest is more of an issue and not the terrorists themselves per say, though people like ISIS contribute to the problems more than actually solve it) so unless you live in those places it shouldn't be a problem.
Useful idiots who parrot ignorant ideologues. Intolerance in the guise of compassion. "Humanitarians" who don't know the first thing about the reality of human nature. Ignorant wishful thinkers who aren't based in facts or economics but feelings. They will be end of civilization as we know it.
In recent years, Russia(MH17) caused more Dutch deaths than terrorism, probably. Now rising sea levels.. that could become problem. But i'll be a old man or even be death by then, so not that big of s concern either.
lol russia shot it down? western propaganda media still does its dirty work. Oh dear.
Anything that causes children and animals to suffer. The rest, I don't really care about. Well, that and the sheeple that rather remain brainwashed instead of questioning what they learn/hear/see.
Dude, you still believe what NOS shows us? Ukraine fighter-jets shot down the plane, not Russia. And lol at terrorism being a threat to the Netherlands.
From what I have gathered it was a BUK-System, who shot it down, not a fighter. And it was probably the east-ukranian separatists, who shot it down accidentally. But even that cant be sure, since some evidence got rigged. What can be said for sure is, this story made up by western MSM that russia or Putin himself shot it down (even serious msm made such claims, they day after the incident, where we couldnt even know if it was an accident or not) is a lie. There is not even an evidence of russia providing the Buk to the separatist. Its more likely the Buk in question is from the ukranian army. The separatists consists of many former ukrainian army members. Whole battalions deserted after Maidan and took lots of tanks and other weapon systems with them. I just find it upsetting that there is still someone who still goes with the propaganda tales. Kind of disturbing.
Yh. that's what has been said to blame Russia and the seperatists^ Russia had already said from the start that there was a Ukrainian fighter-jet flying behind the plane. So that's already two independent (3 if you include Russia) sources that state the same thing on on seperate occassions. Now we have the Australian experts who were put on the case by th UN late last year who are also claiming there has been messed with the evidence. We could go into the conspiracy theories surrounding the Ukraine, the World Bank and the upcoming referendum to allow Ukraine to join the EU, but I don't think this is the right thread for that.
Thats news to me | |
It's gonna be held on april 6th in the Netherlands Edit: It also has to do with money that Ukraine could get from the World Bank, but only if they would keep control of the Krim. And suddenly, the plane got shot down and Russia and the seperatists were the culprits. That's ignoring the fact that this particular plane was the only public flight that ignored advice not to fly over war-territory. All other flights took a detour.
Overpopulation, and the upcoming automation of the workforce. Unemployment in the Western world is about to soar, it'll be an absolute catastrophe, but no one seems to want to talk about that eventuality. It'll all go to hell, and yet my country still worries about a low birth rate...
The automation of workforce will be awesome. Life without the necessity to do shitty jobs is a blessing. Finland already has an unconditional basic income and Swiss will have a referendum about it this year. If everyone raises taxes for rich people and share the wealth machines are producing equally, this will be a step ahead in civilization.
Thats not accurate. The maidan government refused to block the air space over the war territories. They said its fine as long as planes fly higher than 10.000 km. There were only few airlines who didnt want to fly over ukranian territory during that time, but most of them were still flying. Yet the most fishy thing is, that no one blamed the maidan government for not blocking airspace and even starting the civil war. Western propanda always acts like killing east-ukranian or russian people is generally the right thing to do.
Well. Afaik it was only that flight. But I guess that's part of the conspiracy theories I mentioned earlier. We'll probably never be 100% sure on what happened, but I agree with your opinion on Western propaganda. The West is far from being 'just/right'.
Yes, IF everyone starts to follow the example of Finland, and if taxes go through the roof for the richest. (Which is honestly what we should do once automation comes) Problem is, I don't think society will change its viewpoint fast enough (if it does at all), we won't raise the taxes and all the shitty jobs disappearing will leave a vast portion of the population unemployed, with society not helping them at that point.
Just the helping hand angle. I do not have a bleeding heart but I wish more people had it easier. I get upset when my knees or back hurts but I have help, medical care, etc. I wish more people just cared for the welfare of others. General niceness.
Dumb people scare the shit out of me. There should be a larger stigma to being dumb. Life doesn't do those people justice enough.
