There's literally zero reason to limit yourself to one platform or the other past financial reasons. There's good games, and good reasons to play on every platform, a gamer should be able to see this easily.

I can think of many reasons not to trouble oneself with consoles. I despise their whole business model and lack of innovation and options.

According to the owners of the Windows store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider, you can't;

1) Use SLI

2) Use GSync

3) Change your install folder or edit any game files

..and 4) Vsync in enabled all the time.

So yeah, if they're not changing how the store works, we're doomed..

I don't beg for anything. In fact, there's almost nothing now that I want to play, which has a lot to do with the lack of ideas and identity in the console-centric market and its monopolistic, stagnant nature.

It also mean you can't install mod or make some modification in the .ini files.

Just played the hitman beta on ps4 .As a hitman fan i loved it.This is basically blood money 2.0.
I think i'll risk it and pre order the whole thing on PC.

I own the Windows store version (it was only €8.50) and yeah, no overlays work, framerate counters, sweetFX or reshades aren't allowed as well from what I've read, as well as what's mentioned above. The update was days late too from what I could tell and missing some things included in the Steam patch.

The store worked fine though and the game ran perfectly, but for people who like to use the tools above I doubt they'll take a second glance at the Win 10 store.

Just finished my first playthrough of XCOM2 on Commander. Took me about 35 hours.
Amazing game.

Although the pacing needs balancing, as the endgame was too easy apart from the ridiculously hard final mission.

Going through my Legendary Ironman playthrough of XCOM2.
Early difficulty is brutal, one mistake costs you the whole game...

The problem with XCOM/XCOM 2 is that you don't even have to make a mistake. The game just fucks you over time and time again with the stupid dice rolls. And because the retarded countdown to the objective failing is so few turns, you're forced to just throw away any sort of tactical thinking, you have to rely on blind luck.

And how the hell do you get Ironman anyway? I didn't get the choice when I started my playthrough, and it's nowhere in the options either.

When you start a game, you get a prompt asking you if you want Ironman activated, but it's easy to miss.

I feel certain that I got no such prompt, and I really looked for it but couldn't find it anywhere. Oh well, maybe for another playthrough (perhaps when a big new total conversion mod gets released).

It's not anywhere, it only shows up when you already chose difficulty and pushed "Start Game". Right after you do that, you get a message box asking you if you want to enable Iron Man. At first I had mistaken it for a confirmation message about the game options, like I said it's easy to miss / forget.

Just try to start a new game and see for yourslef!

Yeah it's Rainbow Six Siege. The main difference is that Squad is in Alpha, while Siege is in early Beta.

Mother of God, I gave up on Legendary Ironman. After about 10 restarts, I realise how much you need to master the mechanics to be able to make it at this difficulty. Not ONE mistake is tolerated, otherwise everything goes south.
Will try again this week as Commander Ironman.

Like I said, you don't have to make mistakes. You can do everything right, but the game just throws you a curveball and gives you terrible chances, and your enemies hit on EVERY shot. It's complete and utter bullshit.

The game IS fun, but if you want a CHALLENGING game, then this isn't it. This is no Dark Souls. It's just cheap, lazy, unfair and fucking frustrating if you turn up the difficulty setting.
