The Embrace

Gods Hands

Hands from Heaven

advertisement

With the rain pouring down

With the wind howling around

The lights going out

Those fierce and unearthly sounds.

We did not sit in silence

We did not sit in fear

We laughed amongst ourselves

We played games and told stories dear

We never felt afraid

We never thought to worry

Our lives where in his hands

There was no need to worry

Surrounding us where Angels

We where held in Loves embrace

Our Family made it through

We where held in Gods Embrace.

Sometimes in life we take things for granted. Sometimes it takes an event of untold destruction, sometimes sadness, and sometimes it can be a joy so profound that it can change us forever. What ever the reason might be we should always remember to treasure the moments we have together for only today is promised to us. Each day is a blessing and I intend to make the most of each and everyone that I have remaining.

I wrote this to remind myself of that. I also wanted to pay tribute to those who where not as lucky as we where when the tornado touched down over the weekend. At least 23 people lost their lives and others lost their homes, a family member, or a loved one. The material items can be replaced but lives cannot. The buildings can be rebuilt and the jobs which where lost can be brought back but nothing will replaced the souls which where lost that day. So in a way my little tribute is also a prayer.

The Embrace is my way of saying that when the time comes we cannot worry. Even if we should lose it all. If we have placed our lives in the Lords hands then what will be will be.

Very nice tribute Tony.

I pray that all those who lost someone in these storms take solace that only the flesh is dead which is what separates us all from God, however, the souls of those love ones, friends etc. are in tack and are now with God in all of His glory they now are able to see and understand the full truth, something we all will have the opportunity to do, some just are called home sooner then others, doesn't make us miss them any less however, but knowing where they are does bring me much peace and comfort in this flesh world.

So very true. Your words can always express what is in my heart when I think about the things in life which we sometimes forget to be grateful for but deep down we always are. The strength we get from knowing is one of them but knowing someone else understands that means the world to me :)

Another beautiful post, Tony.

This post reminds me of my family when the power goes out. We're the kind of people who live in the same house, but live separate lives. There are days where we don't speak to each other. But when the power goes out, we all gather in the living room and tell stories and always end up laughing until we can't breathe. And it goes on until the power goes back on (when we "scatter like cockroaches" back to our stations, as I like to say!).

I always enjoy those talks and really cherish those memories. We think it's funny how we have so much fun when the power's out.

Thank You :)

Now I'm never getting the smile off my face after reading:

(when we "scatter like cockroaches" back to our stations, as I like to say!).

because I can so relate :)

I don't know what causes us to create our own little world within the world but I do know that I do try to make sure that each day I invite those I care for into mine each day (even if it's just a hug). Somehow just asking "How was your day?" or saying "Hey! Did I tell you I love you today?" just seems to make the private world seem so much brighter :)

I just absolutely love this Tony, kudos. Yes, we are in guiding hands. Personally, I cannot go it alone and faith helps a great deal.

Thank You :)

This life of ours can be so topsy turvey. Sometimes we just need a reminder that as long as we have faith. As long as we have love. Then things will always turn out right. We might not be able to see it when life has us at our lowest but we can when we look back and think what might have been if things had been far far worse.

So lets live for today and let tommorow take care of itself. If we have been living right then it will surely turn out to be a good day :)
