We have a success event on every page view in our SiteCatalyst code. I remember that this was something that was suggested by our implementation consultant, but I don't remember what the reason was. Does anyone know what this could be useful for?
This is typically recommended so that a page view metric can be seen for conversion variables. For example, this answers the question about how many page views are generated by a given campaign (i.e. how well the campaign keeps people on your site).
That makes sens. Now I can see how useful this could be in some cases.
I also got a followup question. We also track a success event on every Purchase, and I never understood what this should be used for since it just shows the same data as Orders. Can you give me a hint why this could be useful?

I’m not sure what your specific situation is, but you can use currency events on Purchase to capture shipping cost or taxes.
