A dramatic new chapter in the legal fight over Proposition 8 opens today, with debate over the purpose of marriage, the power of social convention and the rights of gay individuals televised live from federal court for the first time.

For the former Florida beauty queen and her Save Our Children group, it was the alleged plans of gays and lesbians to "recruit" in schools that provided the fodder for their crusade.

"Today, one position has emerged as the clear preference of the majority of Americans," FiveThirtyEight reports. "Seventy-five percent of Americans support open service, 17 oppose any service, and only 8 percent support the compromise position of 'don't ask, don't tell.'"

According to WNYC, "Until now, investigators have maintained there were four victims that night, two men and two teenagers. But the grand jury has named two new victims, Bryan Almonte and Brian Cepeda.

Please note that I took the word "Angry" out of this series and replaced it with "Proud". I am deeply saddened by the hate for the homosexuals in this world, but at the same time, despite those posts on here saying things like

I have been writing articles called "Are you for Gay Rights Yes or No?". As it grew it became more of an article about educating people on the culture of homosexuals. For that reason I have decided to separate the two series.

Recently I conducted a poll on here asking some pretty basic questions regarding gay rights. Though you can visit the article yourself for more detailed information, I am going to summarize here what the poll showed and do some follow-up on the subject.

Fans of a high school football team in Eastlake, Ohio, have been caught on video taunting a rival team with an antigay chant, calling them "powder blue faggots."

Jeff Hannon, the 23-year-old gay nephew of Carl Paladino (he also works for the campaign), spoke out Tuesday about his uncle's antigay remarks, saying that he was "very offended" by the comments.

"Words have consequences, particularly when they come from a faith leader," Joe Solmonese, president of HRC, said in a statement.

The big question of course is why should the world be forced to remember? Simply because the Holocaust is not a Jewish affair. It touched all of mankind.
