CAIRO — President Hosni Mubarak announced that he would not run for another term in elections scheduled for the fall, appearing on state television to promise an orderly transition but saying he would serve out his term.

Various news agencies are reporting that Eyptian President Hosni Mubarak will address the nation Wednesday night and will announce he will not run again for president. Elections in Egypt are scheduled for September.
