I had a message from cobaltblue from when he/she threw his/herself under the bus of tyler to save me from an onslaught of t'baggus furious and was banned for a day- I didn't know until your post directed me to observe my personal slackness of not checking out all of the available 'vine functions, and now I feel so darn bad! But hopefully, I have made amends with a letter of apology and a friend request to stalwart cobalt!

McSpocky- do you soak your liver in milk (as opposed to alcohol ;D) overnight before frying? Trust me, it really makes it great!

I got that little tip from my father-in-law and used it when I was working my way through college as a fry-cook. Believe me, I had the early-bird diners lining up every Wednesday (bus loads of oldsters heading up to see the Black Hills of South Dakota) for my 'special' slither-n-onions!

PS: It's always a total pain to clean that gunk off of a flat-grill!

The soaking in milk trick is also very good for game beef. However milk has never touched my liver, ha ha!

Soaking Game and some of the smellier fish will work also. Amberjack (the big ones) are best served after they have been soaked in milk.

Thanks for the tip Studius, I love Amberjack. I know some people call it the crap fish of the ocean but I think its great, not up there with Halibut mind you but cooked right its very tasty.

I generally smoke Amberjack and then make a nice dip out of it.

I do that with Kingfish, smoke the hell out of it until its dry, then flake it up and make fish dip. Will have to try it with Amberjack sounds even better. Your making me hungry.

Oh yeah BTW, Christmas is over now so what did you get the Miss's that you couldn't tell us before Christmas because she was just waiting for you to slip up and tell us on here?

we fry up some bacon then cook lots and lots of onions then barely cook the liver add all back to pan, sometimes we will reduce a bottle of beer before adding the liver back.

I wish Not News was in columns! If I miss a day, I miss a lot of stuff in there! It's rapidly becoming the go-to spot on the 'Vine. If there can be 2 columns for stuff that rarely even moves, why not for Not News?

I see the boxes checked. It offers "approval selected" or "delete selected." Nothing happens when I click onto approve selected--when I go back to my column (after I leave the comments and feedback box.) Is it suppose to show on my column or just in the box when I "edit" it? It still reads pending approval.

I accidentally sent myself one and I can't delete it. LOL

Maybe it's a situation like when I don't won't anybody to see me when I'm on NV. Vicki said I was probably the only one to see "on line" if I've checked "nobody" to see me. Do you see that I'm on line in the little green print under my pic?
