Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. awarded President Trump with an honorary Doctorate of Laws at the Lynchburg, Va. school's commencement.
Trump delivered the keynote address at the event, at which Falwell said the president deserves respect for withstanding unending attacks and for his accomplishments thus far.

Trump initially considered Falwell Jr., the son of Liberty founder Rev. Jerry Falwell, for his education secretary post, but the 54-year-old decided to remain in southside Virginia.
In his commencement address, Trump urged the students to understand the importance of hard work and dedication.
