Will Carr is reporting today from the front lines of the California wildfires.
Carr is in Santa Paula, California - in Ventura County - where one of the six wildfires continues to burn, forcing more evacuations.
On Thursday, Carr got an up-close look at a hillside along the Pacific Coast Highway, on the opposite side of beach homes where firefighters have been working around the clock to protect the structures.
The largest of the fires has burned 115,000 acres and is only 5% contained. Strong winds are expected through the weekend.
On Thursday, dramatic video showed ranchers and trainers trying desperately to save horses as the flames raced toward barns
Elite thoroughbred racehorses were killed at the San Luis Rey Downs training center in San Diego County.
