Today is International Women's Day, but when it comes to the female professionals in the Trump administration, there is a clear double standard, Kristin Tate argued Thursday. 

The Hill contributor and author said Melania Trump, White House adviser Ivanka Trump, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert "would be worshipped" by the mainstream media if they were liberals.

Tate said these women are all "strong, independent and hardworking," traits that are normally held up for young girls to aspire to. 

"Because they work for the Trump administration, they are regularly smeared, their characters are trashed. What makes these women really impressive is the way that they face these attacks with strength," she said on "Fox & Friends First."

Tate said Sanders has a "remarkable" way of staying on message during the daily press briefings in front of "a pit of hostile snakes," like CNN's Jim Acosta. 

She said the women in the White House are showing girls they can "have it all" and do not have to choose between having a family or a career.

Tate said the mainstream media is "too busy slandering [Trump] as being some sort of woman-hating bigot" rather than giving him credit for choosing women for prominent roles.
