Greg Gutfeld responded to a Fordham University professor who criticized coverage of Mollie Tibbetts' murder while a guest on MSNBC.
"Fox News is talking about a girl in Iowa and not this," Political science associate professor Christina Greer said on MSNBC of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen's guilty plea.
"A girl in Iowa," Gutfeld repeated. "A girl in Iowa, murdered, pales in comparison to tax evasion."
Gutfeld said that to people like Greer, "when you talk about Mollie [Tibbetts], you can't talk about the things the media thinks is important."
"How many Mollies is a Mike Cohen worth?" he asked.

"Your sorrow over a young woman's death has to be political," he said. "Hush money among adults is more harmful to society than a brutal killing."
Gutfeld said the many in the media are "obsessed" with litigation against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Cohen.
Yesterday I said something flippant that was unintended. Mollie Tibbets was a promising young woman who lost her life. My hope is that her family will find peace & justice and that her murder is not used to justify a discriminatory immigration policy. #Apologiesaremyown.

He said that many other people "know a real victim when we see it, and it's not the IRS or Stormy [Daniels]."
Gutfeld said Greer later tweeted a clarification of her remarks, calling the comments "flippant" and "unintended" but adding that she hoped Tibbetts' death would not be used "to justify a discriminatory immigration policy."
