Hearing the "news" these past two weeks as the death of designated al Qaeda leader Zarqawi was trumpeted to the world in endless waves, I got the feeling I was listening to some scripted propaganda piece rather than honest reporting. The variations and embellishments got more grandiose each day as the US military kept revealing how this one capture was the gold mine of intelligence. It was as if they discovered the secret crypt leading to the uniform military data base of the Iraqi resistance movement. It was disturbing how most journalists were simply reporting the claims of the military without question. It seems reporters have become experts in spinning and embellishing the news; making it appear analytical, unique, and new – even though virtually 100 percent of what we were told about the Zarqawi death came from one source: the US government. There was not a shred of confirmation to be found from other independent sources.
Comments:
What sources do you want? The U.S. government planned and executed the attack. Do you expect them to call "independent" sources and let them know before they attack so they can be there to watch and write about it?
Can't be any worse than before. Saddam made his friends rich and let his people live in poverty.
Is this guy medically trained? Why should we not think he was also an insurgent living in the house next door?
This article just keeps getting worse. Do you really expect the President to make an announced visit to Bagdad? One minute you portray the streets of Bagdad to be an all out war zone and the next you blast the President for not announcing his vist. When does it stop Keld? Bush could cure cancer and AIDS tomorrow and you would still have some half brained conspiracy.
I don't think the "Bush Propaganda Machine" can touch your own.
I'm surprised you didn't respond to the last few lines, Wise G:
