I stopped watching Bond films several years ago cuz they started sucking very badly. The casting of Daniel Craig as the next Bond, in addition to a remake of Casino Royale, has peaked my interest in the next film. Director Martin Campbell claims there will only be one explosion in the film in an attempt to illustrate that this next film will truly be going back to the basics.

I honestly didn't have high hopes for this film translation of the extremely popular novel. However the trailer looks pretty fantastic - stellar cast and a look that captures my visual expectation from the novel.

Clint Eastwood is My Hero

Clint Eastwood entered hero territory for me the day I saw Unforgiven. Between The Good The Bad and The Ugly and Unforgiven, the entire Western genre is well covered by Clint Eastwood the actor and director. Since Unforgiven he's continued to exceed my expectations - most recently with Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby.

Kong at 94% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes

Kong premieres today for the mass media and so far the rating over at Rotten Tomatoes is stellar. It will surely drop some by this time next week as more people see the film. King Kong opens wednesday and this seems like a good excuse to start the holiday slacking early by taking off early from work and seeing it this week. Did I mention the 3 hour running time? Better just leave at lunch.
