Intense heat wave sweeps north India: 47°C (117°F) in Haryana state

I promise to think twice before complaining it's too hot where I am.

"Haryana's Hissar city on Sunday recorded the highest temperature in the north Indian states of Punjab and Haryana with the mercury touching 47 degrees Celsius...

...Weather officials said that the heat wave conditions would continue till Tuesday. The temperatures recorded at all places Sunday were five to six degrees above normal.

Three more persons have died in Uttar Pradesh due to severe heat wave conditions with the mercury hovering around 40 degrees Celsius in parts of the state.

With the deaths of three more persons since yesterday the toll has gone up to ten in the state."

I know! Simran isn't in the far north, but I wonder how bad it is where he is. And it's not even the height of summer yet! Does it ever get that hot by you, Oluseye? Nigeria is pretty close to the equator, so I'd think it would get very hot there. Although, if you're near the ocean it is usually cooler. Are you closer to Abuja or Lagos?
