Rahul Mahajan case: Three Nigerians arrested in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Police have arrested three Nigerian nationals from the city following an interrogation of Sahil Zaroo, who allegedly procured drugs for the late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul and his aide Vivek Moitra, and recovered some narcotics from their possession.

Comments:

BJP is a party with difference and now narcotics make it different. Have we not seen, besides Munde who is Rahul relative, even Mr. Vajpayee has arisen in defence of those who were involved ? And that too before Police got permission to interrogate Rahul. In BJP accused persons and persons of interest go to media studios first and give interviews before they talk to Police. They, more or less, have to be dragged out of live coverage. That makes it so different. I hope Mr. Advani is listening and so is GenX.

I doubt he hangs around Newsvine. I understand your point of view. I'm not sure which party is better, the Congress wit its major reservation support or the BJP with its cover-ups and secretive/shady nature.

I don't think I ever attempted to praise Congress. I tried to bring forth what has already been stated in media. The legal position under Cr. Procedure Code and the Penal Code, as I understand, is that nothing should be done to hamper or influence any investigation. What Mr. Munde and Mr. Vajpayee are doing, in my humble view, tantamount to exactly the opposite, not to speak of flip flop of learned doctors of Apollo Hospital. Mark the audacity of Sahil on the other hand, he runs away to Srinagar overnight and goes to the Media studio for a telecast hook up knowing fully well that Police were looking for him given the fact that Police had contacted his father enquiring about his where abouts. This lad of 22 seems too smart for his age. He is a paddler, a dealer in banned stuff including Shatoosh and god knows what. He can arrange a get together with media for a telecast of his story overnight. He remains one of the money bags of BJP. He is courier of drugs in Rahul's case but remains a paddler in Mumbai. In any case there is not much of a difference between the two.

Vajpayee looses all his discretion when he gives public statement trying to shield Rahul. Ya ! Advani may not be hanging around Newsvine, he surely reads his papers and hangs around all such developments, I guess. I am sure he has not gone on his privilege leave of Rath Yatra nor taken Sanyaas from Politics.

I also don't think any one in India wants to see repetition of Jessica Lall's case, I don't.

Ah. Once again the powerful leaders children are corrupted by power. Sad news. However, this happens with every powerful person's children.

These wise men and women misuse our tax money. The official residence that Rahul was living in is a Govt. accommodation, meant to be used for, surely, not illegal activities of the occupants and commission and omission of illegal acts by any one. Here are people whom we choose, directly or indirectly on good faith and they misuse any thing and everything that they control to satisfy their lust. Why can't we just kick them out ?

We, perhaps, can't because even according to the journalistic judgement of Vir Sanghvi many in the BJP felt that Pramod Mahajan would have become Prime Minister of India one day. Such is the nexus that exists today between Crime and Politics, a so called public service. Imagine who rises to their defence, a stalwart like Vajpayee.

Why can't we just kick them out ?
Because politics isn't that simple. People spend lots of time and effort (even money) to get power. It is even harder to take it away from them once they have it

We ourselves have made it so hard. Once we do it we resign ourselves into defeatism and start believing that 'Sab Chalta Hai' is our destiny. System then germinates likes of Jessica Lall's case on whole sale basis. I am not inclined to believe that likes of Bibek, Rahul and Sohil can not be tackled. It can be done only when Vajpayee(s), Munde(s) you and me stop supporting such anti nationals. These Nigerians and likes of them are peddling because of these goons only. Who on earth can not gauze and foresee the amount of damage these guys inflict on to the GenNext ?

It has to start from individual homes where parents should learn to take the blame for their leadership failure. In our set up every one says that he is honest and had put a glass full of milk in the community pond during the night. How come Mahatma Budh, then was so baffled to find only dirty water in the pond ? Ostensibly, there was gross failure on every ones part. We don't have to go to Harvard to understand it.

If in a democracy we start believing that we can not fix the problems like that of Rahul's for whatever reasons, then we have already lost the battle. Supreme Court of India then be shut out and Hon'ble Judges compulsorily retired. Why demand retrial of Jessica Lall's case by shedding crocodile tears in and outside Parliament ?

You are forgetting that this is the truth in every government. Also, the majority of any group will tend to oppose change which goes against them. This is the biggest obsticle in creating such reform

I never intended to draw any comparison. Eulogise one by denigrating the other. That had never been my objective. The point we must consider seriously at any stage is whether we should allow our selves to slip into defeatism and do nothing. Mark the ongoing developments. Rahul has been arrested for his alleged crimes and the eviction proceedings (from the official residence allotted to Pramod Mahajan) have already started. The relevant file has been sent to the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha for his approval. I need not remind you that that is the law and it is working for the time being. It won't, only if likes of Vajpayee(s) and Munde(s) of the nation are allowed to interfere with its operation. That is what we invariably learn from likes of Jessica Lall's case. Should we fail again and again ? If we do, we will be slaves again and generations will take more than 800 years to throw that yoke away. History has told us that that itself is a very painful process. That is why we have to act now and tune up our skewed thought process.
