Star Trek hasn’t been on television since 2005. After Enterprise it just seemed like the whole thing needed a rest.

I always considered myself a fan of the original Star Trek series, and would watch it if I caught it as a kid in the 70s and early 80s. I never did flips over it, however, and often would find myself laughing at the cheesiness of the show with my older sister.
