As a beta-reader, as of currently I'm looking to improve spelling and grammar. I'll give other opinions on story structures and plots IF ASKED to do so and assured that my opinions will not be taken as insults. I'm only aiming to help people who ask for help.

Anyone that wants me to beta-read their story must be polite and understanding when I make corrections or say anything. If I happen to make a mistake, then I will also prefer to be be told politely. No one must take offense to what I do unless I actually sound fed up and rude. If I clearly state that that is not my aim, then no one can accuse me of such.

I deal with grammar that makes things look tidier. I don't know every single little rule about grammar because I'm not an English major, so if I make mistakes it's only because of the fact I'm just human and I haven't studied grammar as a profession.

I know more about a good plot after years of trying to perfect and better my writing. I'm not perfect, and my view of a "good plot" is probably prejudiced because of my preferences, but I try to keep my personal opinions out of the equation.

Even though I deal with grammar and am not an English major, I will make mistakes or I won't notice certain places where commas do/don't belong. I'm trying, though!

If I like one thing, it doesn't mean that all other readers like it as well. There will be chances that if I hate a plot, it doesn't mean everyone else does. Keep in mind that what I like doesn't apply to everything.

I prefer to beta-read stories in the genre that I already read (like canon X canon). It makes things easier, and there's something to go off of (talking about a character with personality and everything already made). I prefer to stay in the anime/manga that I already know, and will only take things I don't know of if it's extremely needed.

I prefer to beta read for Katekyo Hitman REBORN!, -Man, Naruto, the Inkheart series, and maybe Supernatural.

I prefer not to beta read stories with OCs because they're harder to work on and take longer to correct, and not to mention the fact that I might step on some toes if I make suggestions for OCs. I know I said I would beta read Supernatural, but I also prefer not to since it would be hard to write in this fandom well.
