Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well, I'd be more than happy to accept beta requests, as I'm always willing to help out fellow writers. Maybe this is a good opportunity to mention I'm on the road to hopefully becoming an English teacher...

I'm thorough, and brutally honest, but in the kindest way possible. I'll guide you with technical accuracy and of course creativity if needed but I believe that imagination is something that cannot be judged. I am a little 'obsessive compulsive' so perhaps this is mild warning, but it only means I'll beta your story to perfection (honest!)

Please don't be afraid to drop in your requests! I'd love to get to know some of you writers out there, and help in the best way possible!

Oh, and when you look through the categories/fandoms I have listed on this profile, don't read it as permanent. More may be added.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I like to focus on central themes and characters within the story. I feel that characterisation is highly important and that character development is always something useful to look at - so in other words, I'm good with characters and themes. I'm also good with technical accuracy - thing like grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. Be warned - technical accuracy is where I strive for absolute perfection!

I also like to write descriptively in my stories with varied vocabulary, but only when it's necessary. Too much can sometimes ruin a story or disinterest a reader...

My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Well, I've already mentioned the fact I get a little obsessive over little details. I really do like things to be absolutely perfect. Another weakness of mine is getting things to make sense to the reader without spilling too much information. Subtlety is key! But, this is also a thing I'm working on myself so if you needed help with this, we'd be sailing in the same boat. Oh, and I really don't like cliched stories... sorry...
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I'm a sucker for romance and dramatic stories. I'm not fussy about how the story ends (happy or sad...) but I do like it when there's a good twist at the end. I'm also kind of into horror stories, but it really depends on what you class as horror. Thrillers are fine, and almost any other category. I'm just more afraid that if it's something I haven't personally written myself, I won't have the expertise to go with it.
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I would only list some of these purely because I'm weak at writing in these genres myself. Genres such as supernatural, western and adventure are my weak points, so I wouldn't be much help with them.
