I am an editor at a fiction publisher and I spend my days reading manuscripts and editing books. What's not to love?! I have two stages of editing: an overall structural edit with top line notes and a line edit, getting into the nitty gritty. My first love is words followed VERY closely by grammar, so am very happy to take on proofreading. I'm really only looking to work on high quality writing. I love reading and discovering new brilliantly written stories, stories that deserve to be read. I love nothing more than making a piece of writing the very best it can be. I have a strong editorial background and am confident in editing, as well as stepping back and doing the basics. I read widely and problem solve extremely well. I dabble in creative writing myself and have undertaken fiction writing courses, which means I understand just how precious your work is to you. I'll be as nice, but as critically helpful, as possible!

I am incredibly busy with work, so time is a factor for me. However, I'm only going to be working on a few beta reading projects, so it means I can devote more time to them. I'm also a perfectionist, so I'll want to spend time getting something absolutely right before sharing my thoughts with you.

I love romance stories and feel more confident working with romance fiction. However, I can work on a variety of genres. The best stories for me are where I can get engaged with every kind of emotion; angst, tragedy, anger, despair. I'm particularly interested in HSM stories, given that I have spent years reading and developing the characters in my head and in my own writing. Hit me with them!

I would feel slightly uncomfortable delving into the fantasy genre, as this isn't an area I know well. Twilight being the only fantasy fiction I've ever read...! However, I am open to reading anything and am willing to give anything a try.
