Aww that final confronation was pretty epic, don't worry. I'm a fan of the multiple forms of a final boss thing and you pulled it off well here. Seeing the Idolons gets some action was great too, Anima is so sweet! Yeah it was pretty obvious Bar zen dao was going to die but at the same time you got me thinking he wouldn' tin the middle of the story, but even though it happened anyway, that final exchange between him and Cuore got me a bit teary-eyed, so sweet and such a great way to end his story arc ;_;

So interested to see how things will go in the last few chapters!

I really liked this chapter! I disagree with it feeling like a rehash. A lot happened, and stuff really felt like it was moving forwards. Kieran getting his dragon scale back and getting Barb's approval was exciting, and all of the character interactions were as great as they usually are. I really love how you manage to make them sweet but reality-based at the same time and how the characters manage to be in touch with what is going on and not just tune out everything to focus on each other but still are seen to care for each other a lot. Ursula and Ceodore's moment was a perfect example of this.

Cuore feeling tired from casting magic was a nice touch, and consistent with everything you've showed about her magic so far. I really like the details like that that you add to the story. You do a really good job of keeping consistency, and small reminder of stuff from before.

Thanks for the promise to wrap everything up nicely. It will be nice to see everyone get their happy endings. But take your time, if you need to! Quality chapters like this are always worth the wait!

Oh, another chapter. Yay!

Wow. Just... Wow. This is fantastic so far. I've read through Lost and Found, My Brother's Keeper, and now this in the last 3 days, and way to go building a massive, believable world out of what is still my very favorite FF game in the series. The story is riveting, the sly little references are fantastic (like Jem'Ha'Dar for the crystal tech, I'm not sure if that's the spelling they used on Star Trek DS 9, but it sounds the same) and it's not ALL mushy stuff.
Your earlier authors notes mentioned that you had ideas for a fourth massive multi-chapter story after this one, and while I understand needing a break, I'd love to see it once this is done. Among other considerations, things you've hinted here (way back at the beginning) and in your shorter stories leave dangling threads to be woven back in. Like the Elite. Whether they really are just supposed to be Baron's answer to the Eblan Four and act as super protective obnoxious bodyguards or they're there to basically be a praetorian guard and "assess" the suitability of the future monarch, there's plenty to do with them. And the Magicite, and those obnoxious Dahl siblings, just off the top if my head. You made so much material to work with, and it's bloody DELIGHTFUL!

Yeah Barb in this chapter was pretty great. Love the begrudging respect Kieran earns from her XD and her graceful dancer moves, always fun to read. I really liked this chapter, but I always enjoy your battle scene writings (especially with the magic and summons, go Cuore) and yeah I noticed the band with with Barb and Kieran, so fun haha.

Ceodore and Ursula finally having an actual touching moment was sweet too, nice to see Ursuala put her guard down even if it was a breif instant. The tension is running so high, you really left us at a crazy cliff hanger here! I'm expecting more illusion world sniz and a sacrifice from Bar zen dao...as much as I'd like him to live, it really seems like he'll have to sacrifice himself to stop all this D:

Ayaaah can't wait to read the final battle! Legit the final boss theme from IV played in my head at the end of this chapter XDD
