It's like they're stuck between a rock and a hard place. She needs him but she thinks he needs to be away from her to be safe, and he needs her but thinks she needs to be with him to be safe. I think you've captured that really well :-)

That's daring on the part castle in a way that I enjoy and find very honest.

Very well written but as far as the subject matter goes I'm not a big fan. I hate when fans blindly accept storylines without question, especially when the storyline doesn't make any sense like on Castle right now. You mention how Beckett is trying to protect him but you, just like almost all other authors and the show, fail to acknowledge the fact that he needs protection because she put this ahead of him and their marriage. He didn't mean enough to her to give up this idiotic quest that she has no business being on, and that is why he may be in danger. She wasn't forced into this, it's all on her. But of course the show is most likely going to have the ragtag team of Beckett the new 12th captain and Vickram the analyst with a few months experience bring down an organization that the CIA hasn't been able to take down. What's happened to my favorite show? Sorry to vent but need to every so often. Your story is well written though.
