EllisDream chapter 1 . 6/8/2016 Sorry about not logging in, but i'm reading this gem while commuting to work. I completely agree on all points expressed in you ANs. A big part of the fascination i feel towards the Hetalia universe is the fact that by scratching the superficial and funny dynamics of the manga/anime we can imagine and sometimes glimpse a dark underground. This somehow manages to make things seem more real to me. Anyway! I really liked the format and while i don't know much about the challenge itself i can confidently say you did a grear job! The different episodes create a collage and help us see the bigger picture through hints and imagination. It was pleasant, sometimes moving and sometimes hilarious. Thanks as always; it really brightened my evening after a stressful workday :) |
Abc chapter 1 . 6/7/2016 AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnh Oh, don't mind me, that was the sound of me dyinG because f-cked-up, dysfunctional BTT is my favorite BTT, and also the one that hurts my heart the most. :s And as a history nerd, all the historical stuff in here is absolutely great. And made it hit harder. It's not even just the nineteenth century that started all of this! Even before this, France and Spain and France and Prussia were at odds with each other. I'm sure you knew that, though. Because I can see Napoléon and the repeated wars of the nineteenth century start to break their friendship, and the Franco-Prussian War and WW1/WWII/the Spanish Civil War hammering the nails into those cracks. Aaaaaaa these three KILL me. |
teabrows chapter 1 . 6/7/2016 They did say that the Spanish civil war was like a dress rehersal to WWII. In canon, isn't Gilbert actually an albino? Thanks for writing this. Many authors ignore or generally just don't care about the history of these three and how it's almost impossible for them to be friends, much less best friends. Thank you for being one of the few to actually regars this. Despite their history, I do love this trio. Personality wise, this friendship works out, but since they're countires, we all know it gets more complicated considering their past and role. |
Guest chapter 1 . 6/7/2016 Great fic! I love it, so beautiful! |
Immortal x Snow chapter 1 . 6/7/2016 Okay, remember how I said I had the best title and summary? I think you may have beaten me. That summary was fabulous. And how can you better sum up the BTT than your title? What really amused me about this set was how we somehow managed to write about the same thing often. Did you notice that? The three of them sharing a bed, pranking England, driving, and then the fall of the Berlin Wall and FIFA and driving and everything! We just did them for different themes (which makes it even cooler). And it's so funny because I was trying to be a lot more off-the-wall on this one. Who knows, man. These are lovely. It's not even just that you balanced the light and goofy with the dark and devastating, but you included such tenderness between the three of them, with things like Prussia texting in the midst of his panic, France getting Prussia special sunglasses, Antonio falling asleep in the car... It's so cute, despite all the darkness. And then there's the humor, which is as spot-on as ever (France flashing Spain and Prussia, lol). You have such a great handle on these three, and you pull off all their complexities and difficulties with finesse. It's really amazing, especially with the balancing of the human/nation aspects, which makes things even crazier with these three. It takes a truly skilled fanfic writer to handle this side of Hetalia, and I think you are precisely the woman for the job, as you have shown yourself to be time and time again. Way to go. :) |
