Oh my goodness, you're so good at these Waige family stories. I loved this one. It makes you wonder if Walter would take less dangerous chances if he truly realised just how much Ralph needs him. Great work, as always. :)

This is such a great picture of the things that really drive Walter. His love for Ralph, of course, but beyond that, his commitment to keep promises – especially to kids, and most especially to the most important kid in his life. You also capture Walter’s need to be different from Drew – and from his own father. I really love, though, that you have Paige turn that around when she reminds Walter of the most important promise he’s made to Ralph. It’s very reminiscent of Crazy Train.

Mostly, though, I love that Walter still got to wake Ralph up on his birthday.

I may or may not have gotten a little teary reading this. Walter's dedication to being a good father is so heartwrenching and I have no doubt he'll be that way on the show too.

The emotion you always manage to give Walter without making him ooc is just inspiring. And Paige explaining in her wonderful Dineen way that Ralph will understand and just needs his dad (HIS DAD!) to get home safely made me have to put my phone down to regain my composure.

Really, really beautiful job. As always.

P.S. My tombstone is going to say "remember that time Walter told Paige love only made sense to him when he was looking into her eyes because loving anyone else the way he loves her is inconceivable to him". My skin is cleared, my soul is washed clean, my motivation renewed.

Awwww! This was the sweetest thing! You are so amazing with the Waige family feels. Walter feeling SO bad about breaking his one promise when Drew broke all of his. And Ralph really just wanting Walter to be okay the whole time. This was just wonderful!

This is almost too fluffy. I love it. You should write more father/son moments with Walter and Ralph.
