ashes at midnight chapter 1 . 4/24/2009 i have always thought they left so many things left unsaid between angel and giles. such a sad story. adding to fav's
the.woods chapter 1 . 12/8/2004 Wow...your work is always surprising me ! Great job, and wonderful use of words :) -n
She's a Star chapter 1 . 8/20/2003 Oh my goodness. That was amazing. Beautifully written, and so subtly tragic and true to the characters. The end just left me in awe; such a perfect blend of beauty and sadness. Giles's reaction was absolutely perfect, and Angel was heartbreaking. "I liked her" just made my heart ache. 'Such a fragile thing, memory. The soft curve of her smile, the smell of her skin. He had come so close to happiness with her, had felt it brush against his skin like butterfly wings before it had been taken away.' That was utterly stunning. Absolutely beautiful piece. ~Star
Athenae1 chapter 1 . 5/15/2003 Oh, ouch. And oh, lovely. Giles resentful, Giles angry, and you resist the easy way out. This feels very authentic to the character, and is very well-written besides.
Phill chapter 1 . 3/18/2003 Great job. Loved the interplay and like the 'fifth wheelness' of Buffy. Great stiff upper lip of Giles. I'm gonna see if I can think of a few more cliches to put in, but really first class job.
Twilight Unicorn chapter 1 . 3/14/2003 Can I just say WOW? That was very good. I am left in awe. That's all I can say.
Gwynevere1 chapter 1 . 3/12/2003 Wow. That was stunningly beautiful. I agree that there should have been some sort of reconciliation between Giles and Angel. In truth, the fact that there never was is the only instance in which I felt the show *failed* me. Anyway, I love this piece, espeically towards the end, when you become truly poetic. Wonderful job. Please write more soon.
twisgd chapter 1 . 3/12/2003 Wow. a powerful and honest exploration. Too many pro B/A writers expect Giles just to accept that Angel and Angelus are two entirely separate entities ( which IMO the show does NOT support)and rail on him for having any emotional reaction to Angel at all. It's just not credible. Giles was cruelly bereaved and terribly injured mentally and physically, and for all that he's the next best thing to a saint in the Buffyverse, you don't just forget stuff like that, no matter how "mature" you are. I don't agree that Giles is Buffy's father figure (I think the Watcher/Slayer bond is or should be more special than that) but that's by the by. I always wanted to see much more attention paid to how much s3 B/A et al must have hurt Giles. But that's what fanfic's for!
