NabikiB chapter 15 . 10/23 Next time Jareth sings and dances for his goblins, make sure his son overhears the tune and words and manages to GET his father the pet hippopotamus from the song. As for the Headmaster, give him an ear worm involving either the Song that Never Ends, the Barney the Singing Dinosaur theme song or both...but use Elmo's voice. |
Guest chapter 15 . 10/13 I really like this story and hope you update soon. |

missgsmith51 chapter 15 . 8/24 Whoa, big changes for Molly Weasley. I wonder if Dumbledore will attempt to force Arthur to undo the spells. He sticks his nose into every other aspect of their lives, apparently. "Making a mental note to have [Scabbers] checked out by someone in the Ministry's magical creatures department, this thought led to his youngest son and how Ron seemed so different than the rest of his siblings." I wonder ... could Ron be Dumbledore's child? He certainly doesn't act like the other brothers. It sounds like Arthur may have doubts about this kid. If he doesn't escape first, it looks like the gravy train may be at an end for Scabbers. Once they figure out who he is, it shouldn't take long for Sirius to be freed ... I hope. When that happens, I suspect we will find a lot more skeletons in Dumbledore's closet. I'm enjoying your story and look forward eagerly to the next update. |
missgsmith51 chapter 14 . 8/23 Well, Augusta's on the ball, anyway, as far as the adults go. She is pretty savvy, and she doesn't mind slapping Dumbledore down when he needs it ... which is frequently. I like it when she and Amelia go after him and make his life miserable. It's even better when Minerva helps ... so perhaps she will wise up, too. I hope Arthur can make Molly behave, but I don't really have much hope there. Molly is too much a Dumbledore worshipper, and it is clear that Arthur has begun to see both him and Molly more clearly. They are definitely in cahoots behind Arthur's back. Is she just after more money ... or does she want power, as well? I think the fur may fly when he sits her down for their little ... talk. I also think Ron may find himself back at the Burrow or with Aunt Muriel, if he doesn't shape up. I'm glad Padma seems to see clearly where Harry is concerned. I wouldn't mind seeing him with Padma, but it seems Hermione is the destined one in your story. Perhaps they should look to Neville. I think he is a great kid. Definitely better than Draco. Your Seamus and Dean also seem to have more substance than they usually do. Ron is the turkey in that year. It should be an interesting new year for a lot of people. |
missgsmith51 chapter 13 . 8/23 The Parvati twins ... should be the Patil Twins. Forbes sounds like a dream butler! I can't believe how long it took Dumbo to realize Harry wasn't at Hogwarts. That alone should clue him into the fact that he is not exactly doing a bang-up job as Headmaster, since very few kids stayed. He continues, too, to rely on others where Harry is concerned rather than investigating for himself. He claims to be Harry's guardian, but he is completely neglectful and doesn't have a clue about Harry. Based on comments from a previous chapter, it sounds as if Dumbledore was planning to "siphon off" some of Harry's magic to himself. I can't even imagine what Jareth would do if he attempted it. Still, Dumbledore is going to be livid when he is unable to brew the Elixir, due to not having the real Stone, and I wouldn't put it past him to attempt to harm Harry. Merlin help the Wizarding world if he does. |
missgsmith51 chapter 12 . 8/23 It's rather interesting to see the good guys having a lovely holiday and the bad guys being miserable. Usually, it's the other way around. I'm especially enjoying Draco being a bored little sourpuss. What I don't understand is why he doesn't go and visit some of his friends ... unless he has done something to get on their bad sides. At least he isn't blaming Harry Potter for everything that goes wrong, as he usually does. I love Snape's misfortunes. He truly does deserve every naughty thing that is happening to him. Harry is really just responding to Snape's treatment of him. He did not "initiate hostilities"; Snape did that. Unfortunately for Snape, this Harry can fight back, and he is not a lonely little orphan Snape can bully. Not only that, Harry has loyal Goblins and Elves wholove him and are both willing and able to drive the potions master completely bananas. HeHe! Dumbledore is a PITA. He really is an interesting character to bash. I actually think that a lot of his canon behavior is questionable. We have only his assertions for why certain things happened as they did, and too often he doesn't answer questions truthfully. He has a habit of talking "around" a question but not really addressing it. That whole nebulous "Greater Good" is never explained, no matter how many times he is asked to explain it. On the surface, it seems simple enough: it's what is best for everyone. But why is Dumbledore the one who gets to determine what is best for everyone? Answer: Because the Wizarding world population has become lazy. They have grown so used to letting Dumbledore do their thinking and make their decisions that they don't know how to think critically anymore. They have worshipped him for so long, too, that he has come to believe his own hype. He has also become corrupt. Since he makes noises about rights and equality, he has projected an aura of being fair. Here he is, the person who heads the legislative body, who is paid to make laws. What has he REALLY done to ease the plight of the Werewolves? Has he passed any legislation protecting abused House Elves? Has he done anything to bring social equality to Centaurs and Goblins? Both races are brilliant - hardly the beasts they are classified as being. At Hogwarts, does he punish the Slytherins for brutal bullying, despite allowing punishment for far lesser offenses by the other houses? Nope. I think he stirs up inter-house hostilities. I also think Mr. Greater Good ... is a bigot. Sorry if my tirade offends anyone. It's just how I see things. |
missgsmith51 chapter 11 . 8/23 I confess, I expected Dumbledore to give Harry grief and even attempt to prevent him from going home on Christmas. How did he miss that opportunity? Or did Jareth fix it so he missed it? HeHe! I'm really glad you're giving Snape the grief he truly deserves. Don't forget ... I really want to see both him and Dumbledore bogged ... as often as possible. Having Goblins terrorize both of them also wouldn't go amiss. I'm surprised at McGonagall's insistence that Harry play on the Quidditch team. Asking him is one thing, but insisting on it seems inappropriate. Of course, so does expecting Harry to pay for the Nimbus 2000. I hope the Goblins stop that nonsense. With Sarah and Jareth together, I suppose getting Hermione and Harry Hermione together will now be a walk in the park. |

Catz4444 chapter 15 . 8/6 Oh my gosh! So I found this story two days ago and as of that time, I hadn’t ever watched Labyrinth. Well, I was enjoying this story so much that I decided that I had to watch it. One of my friends was over at my house and we rented it and watched it together. We both enjoyed it so thank you for inspiring me to finally watch it! Your story is enjoyable. It’s cute and funny in just the right parts while still having a plot. You manage to give all of your characters a specific personality and keep them in character. I’d like to see a bit more about why Molly Weasley is so loyal to Dumbledore but other than her all of the character motivations seem believable and thought out. I’m sure that you are already aware of the Shakespeare error in the most recent chapter and I know that you know what you are talking about in spite of it from earlier author’s notes and the story in general so I’m not going to hound you on that. This story is well written and fun to read! You are an amazing author! Keep up the fantastic work! |
IsisMoon chapter 15 . 8/4 Love this story, it is very well written. Just one note however regarding the reference to Hermione and Oberon and Titania. Hermione's a character in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale not The Twelfth Night and Oberon and Titania are from A Midsummer Night's Dream not Much Ado About Nothing. Again love the story, keep up the good work, and I look forward to reading future chapters. |
