Attributing a lower amount of cooperation to Thatcher's politics seems unfair. war has a way of doing that when it strikes home, and Thatcher fought no wars that hit Britain on anywhere near WW2's scale. you are simplifying things too much.

Here's what I think about Snape:
Satanus Snape had a brother/cousin/other relative named Tobias who was a squib. Since he was a squib, his family hated him and made his life hell, so he came to hate magic. That's probably why he hated Eileen Prince and Severus.

His father was named ORION. Ginny's full name is GINERVA. She actually has a cunning side, so Slytherin DOES actually suit her somewhat.
