Aww, well that was just the sweetest little thing! As always, I loved the discriptions of everything, from Kaylee's excitement to Mal's watchfulness over his people, Wash and Zoe's loving banter, Jayne's grouchiness and Simon's inner paranoia at the inevitable nasties in the lake. I love Zoe's reflection on the poor bastard that got blown into the air, and I couldn't tell you just how much I adored this:

No doubt she'd guessed that even if he could stand up in the face of her pleading, he'd be no match at all if she and Kaylee combined forces.

Poor Simon, being ganged up on my his little sister and a hot mechanic. ;)

Oh and the end was shiny- sucked all of the carefree happiness out of the room and stuck a nice big dose of tension in there instead. I wouldn't complain if you did add to this, but I like it just the way it is as well. Great job.

I love love love this. I adore the crew interactions, and it just feels so right! You nailed everybody, especially Wash-and Simon and Kaylee made me grin like a fool. I hope that you do continue with it, because I'm dying to know what happens next now!

Very shiny! You hooked me in the beginning and kept me intrigued until the shocker ending. You've written all the characters perfectly (I loved Zoe and Mal remembering the war), and you managed to bring in some great action that's got me waiting for more. Please say there'll be more!

I really liked this story, especially the little tidbit about Zoe and the "floating landmine". I think it would be great if you continued this, or show what led to it.
