Timeless style and almost poetic sentences give the story a unique charm. Special mention of the title and summary, both catchy.

The story's aforementioned perfectness begs a list of 'favourite parts': 'the worst gift', the contents of his apartment, his ways of showing that he cared, willingness to loose his pride for her, plucking flowers, 'dirt-covered', walking with dignity, stiff spine, the dogs' sleeping postures, 'illogical' gifts, and Riza's line about how perfect the gift inadvertently was and why.
