I love this story. I faithfully read the entire manga and watched the entire anime just to explore the relationship between Rin and Sesshoumaru, and I love to read stories that expand on it. I particularly like this story for your characterization of Sesshoumaru, but also because there is an element of bittersweetness and sadness. Any relationship between an someone is essentially immortal and someone who is not must necessarily contain this, but most authors don't bother.

Great story. You absolutely nailed Sesshoumaru- "because I can" and "neither good nor evil but supremely self-interested". The inexplicable (to me) interest in Rin in such an amoral creature has always been the quirk that makes him interesting.
