Absolutely awesome! I love Hojo/Kagome, but most Hojo/Kagome out there is crap. You really pulled it off well!

Wow, this fanfic really drew me in. For a while there, I expected the two of them to not work out.. It was really a sad story, though I'm glad Kagome got happiness even after losing Inu Yasha to Sengoku Jidai.

Thoughtful and wonderful. Your style was as breathtaking as your words. Short, but bittersweet and I devoured every syllable.

OMG! Wow! That left me feeling so empty. That was amazing! I've had plenty of ideas on a HouKag fic, but none of them come close to this level of drama. It was almost like a gestalt story. Details were left out, but the over all image that you're left with was just incredible.

How sad about Kagome, and the only way to cope and go on living a normal life was something so drastic! I never really thought about the repercussions of leaving the adventurous life to return to the mundane, not to mention the fact that she so abruptly leaves behinds all her friends and there's no closure on what has happened to them.

And you also added the fact that she wanted to remain the girl that she was in high school, but the events in the Sengoku Jidai would not allow for that no matter how she tried. Ironic that at the end, she got her wish. But poor Houjo! It's like living a lie, or just the surface image of a life. Not completely real. You've given the boy a depth that's not seen often, if ever. I think this is the first time that I've read about a Houjo who has more to him than a shallow saucepan of water. Most of the time he's depicted as the happy-go-lucky oblivious guy who's basically your walking doormat. But this Houjo was so much more, with frustrations and wishes. Makes him more of a real person.

I totally loved this story! And this reminds me why I should keep up to date with your writing. Too awesome!

I happened upon this piece while sifting through the IY Fanguild nominations. This story is very deserving of such an honor. It is a jewel indeed and I savored every heartbreaking word of it. Poor Hojou had to go through unrequited love, kind of like Kagome did... Despite its horrible realism and permeating sadness, this story was beautiful. Thank you.

Excellent story! Wonderfully written, though there were a few spots that read awkwardly. Any plans for a sequal? It would be very interesting to see how the two coped afterwards as a married couple. Just a great story!
