Excellent story! Ususally I prefer happy endings, but your story is absolutely perfect like this. I like it since it is more realistic with Jareth actually being human and not Fae. I also like the fact that Toby repeats Jareth's mistakes and yields to the temptation of power. That's actually (and sadly) more human, and regrettably we are confronted with such hunger for power and influence every day. Well done Shakespearean tragedy indeed. Great concept, I'm definitely a fan now.

...Totally depressing. I would favorite it, because after all there was Toby and Sarah/Jareth in it, but I have a feeling I would erase it next time I read it. Now I wanna cry.

I'll just say that I hope that hissing voice is explained! I had to check and see if the story was noted as "Complete," and I'm relieved that it is. Otherwise, I'm not sure what I'd do!
