nellstar65 chapter 6 . 10/21/2008 I couldn't figure out why everyone in the gate and control rooms were staring at Sam and Jack. Were they covered in blue pollen dust or morphing into bugs? You so totally surprised me with the bug broadcast throughout part of the SGC. Janet's account of Jack's feelings were beautiful. Jack's stunned and sarcastic responses during his briefing with Hammond and the President were cool. Yippee Jack got Sam to the cabin. |
polrobin chapter 1 . 8/14/2008 Hey there, This was a fantastic story, and as a Milwaukee native I laughed out loud when Daniel said the artifact could be found there. I was delighted with your descriptions of my (our) hometown. You did a fantastic job. Thanks! Pol |
gater62 chapter 5 . 8/7/2008 Oh my! I have a bad feeling about this! Did the whole SGC get Jack's feelings too? My stomach is in knots! |
gater62 chapter 2 . 8/7/2008 I'm with Sam on this one! I spent a winter in Chicago and standing on the corner waiting for a bus in 50 below wind chill is definitely not fun! Oh the UST! |
LJEvans chapter 3 . 1/23/2008 WOW! I loved the make-out scene! So well written, all I can say is that was HOT! |
LJEvans chapter 2 . 1/23/2008 You did such a great job of describing the museum that I could visualize it all in my head and it made me want to go there! Well done! |
STC chapter 6 . 1/9/2008 gawd I loved this one but I think it obviously just BEGS for a sequel! |
WhatATragicComedy chapter 6 . 11/1/2007 Wow. I just wanted to comment on the 'communication' part of the story with the alien. That was intense. And the way it radiated throughout the base was pretty cool. Very very neat idea and I enjoyed it alot. |
chocolatequeen chapter 6 . 10/25/2007 I stumbled across this fic a few days ago and loved it. Then I wanted to read it again yesterday and couldn't find it. You would not believe the lengths I went to in search of it... It was definitely worth the re-read though, and I'll be adding it to my list of favorites (so finding it next time should be a snap). This whole story gelled really well. The opening chapter with the slight hints of romantic tension led into the obvious tension in the second chapter and then the making out in the third chapter. The personal tension in the fourth chapter-do we want to keep doing this, or do we want life to go back to the way it was before-was wonderfully real and angsty. I particularly enjoyed that it was Jack who said they couldn't just pretend it never happened. And then chapter five. *dreamy sigh* As a lifelong reader of romance novels, I can conclusively say that was one of the best "description of feelings" passages I've ever read. It was a little angsty of course, but that was what made it good. It made it... real. Once again, balancing the tension between the tremendous love he feels for her and the pain of knowing he can't do anything about it. Chapter six took a good story and made it great. Having that burst of psychic burst shoot through the open Stargate was sheer genius. I'll tell you a secret-this is the only "higher-ups give Jack and Sam the okay to have a relationship and still work together" story I've ever found at all realistic. I know too much about the military to believe it would ever really happen, but somehow... you poured so much humanity into every character in this chapter that I couldn't *not* see it happening this way. The President's description of Jack's noble act in setting aside his feelings for so long was another passage that made me sigh, and that I have to read over and over again. But nothing beats him walking into the infirmary, saying they've been given immunity on 134 as it pertains to each other. Sam's usually so quick, so it was it was delightful seeing the wheels taking a minute to click. And then when they did, she was still slightly uncertain what it meant-not because she didn't know what it meant overall, but because she wanted to make sure he wanted it too. All in all, a wonderful story that's going on my list. |
