8 years later and still no update. I’m going to assume this is abandoned or your dead which is a real shame because this story will just be placed in the pile of unfinished works that thousands of people wished was completed. It was fun while it lasted.

It's almost funny how by this point I think Minato has decided that the caravan is trustworthy even if he can't figure out how the hell they get all their info. It really shows in how he figured Shinsei could stay while he (I guess) would be telling both Obito and Itachi about the coup (at least to some degree). I'm gonna guess right now that it isn't normal for any shinobi to decide that quickly that someone who is technically an outsider can stay while discussing a potential civil war among their village.

One thing I don't think Naruto realized is just how prominent a role he plays in Itachi's life. As it stands, he plays a similar role for Itachi as he did for Sai years ago. That light which managed to get a person who has killed their emotions to feel again. It is way, way beyond obvious that Itachi trusts Naruto. As in unconditionally trusts him, he had no qualms whatsoever telling him about all the inner dealings of Uchiha politics. That trust is most definitely a double edged sword. As it stands their (time travelers) understanding of Itachi comes from his past self and not so much his present self. His past self never had the human contact/connection to act as a potential distraction against doing what he thought was the best way to both preserve his clan's honor while ensuring Konoha's peace. I really don't think the time travelers can completely trusts his past self actions to come true for sure since the current Itachi does have those connections. Essentially there has been a rather fundamental change in the Itachi now in comparison to the Itachi of the past.

Gotta say that'd be the type of random tidbit of info that'd leave you staring in complete wtf. Can you imagine Orochimaru reading Icha Icha Paradise? I sure the hell can't.

What astounds me is just how dang mature every one of the time-travelers are. I mean in all honestly aren't they all younger than 20 with the exception of Kakashi? Yet, based on actions and words I'm willing to bet pretty much anyone would've said they had the maturity of someone decades older. I guess living through a brutal, gory and just all-around sickening war does that to people.
At the same time, their collective protectiveness over Hinata is pretty dang impressive. Literally all they had to hear was that Shinsei beat up Yuri because he insulted Hinata to not only pardon his actions but resist the urge to add their own punishment to it. Seriously, even Kakashi seemed to have absolutely no problem with Yuri's state. Hell he's the only one that actually did to something after Shinsei's initial beat down even if it was just slightly kick the guy a bit. Although I definitely got the impression that Naruto was resisting killing then guy then and there. It would certainly explain what he told Kiba.

Honestly, I have to be impressed with how thoroughly the Konoha 9 (excluding the deceased members) have managed to hide the fact they're shinobi. Powerful, high-ranked, time traveling shinobi who are trying to prevent future events by altering the past. All things considered it's impressive that it took all the way till the bit in the poisoned village before any kind of serious/large-scale confrontation took place. Though I think it might also have something to do with the fact that most of the major leaders have already decided they're much more dangerous than they appear or in Hiruzen's case gave them the benefit of doubt and by now probably trusts them to at least not be detrimental to Konoha.

I'm not even kidding teasing as Kakashi (of the future) mini-me is probably the most fun the guy's EVER had. At the same time, I'm pretty darn sure that's the most emotion anyone has seen from Kakashi (chuunin one) in a really REALLY long time.

Itachi, is... scary not in a dangerous way (yet, since I'm talking about the 4 year old Itachi) but rather in the fact he might as well be a living robot. I mean even Kakashi as a kid isn't that bad! On the other hand, I'm so pitying that councilman right now. Having one Uzumaki on your tail is bad enough, two is just plain overkill.

While I can't say the same for some Kakashi's mentality seems to have become more and more childish with age rather than the other way around. I suppose that's what happens when you've pretty much lost all ability to feel/have emotions during your true childhood years. You make up for it after you've already grown up. Or you simply become slightly sadistic, one or the other.

I've been of the opinion that as tragic as Naruto's and Sasuke's childhoods were Kakashi and Gaara honestly might've had it worse. Not sure what about the chapter reminded me of that opinion but it did.

Brilliant! This story is brilliant! Please I know it’s been 8 years but really do consider updating this! All the interactions between characters were written to an amazing standard! I love how you portrayed all the characters!

Why did you kill that character! *tears streaming down my face* I want to know if Naruto will exist! You can’t possibly be considering an AU where he was never born!
