sammygirl1963 chapter 3 . 6/6/2010
wonderful chapter. I'm glad the boys had someone to play with, though I know it won't last long.
adder574 chapter 3 . 6/6/2010
Loved this. I can see it going this way after Mary's death. Dean trying to be brave and look after things, and trying to hold it together, John trying to do the best he can, and Sammy being Sammy.

Please update soon.
Mattie chapter 2 . 11/10/2008
PADavis chapter 2 . 9/8/2008
Really like your John - doing his best, aware of what's going on with Dean, and Sam, and juggling what he can. Nice update - I'd like to see more.

HAMUCHA chapter 1 . 8/21/2008
You know what!. I just served it fast, and I think I love it! I can't wait reading it when I get home.
sammygirl1963 chapter 2 . 8/17/2008
Poor Dean, I feel so bad for him and the way it tears him up having to go to school and being away from Sammy. It nearly broke my heart when I read the part about John being late and Dean rushing into his arms crying!
Merisha chapter 2 . 8/17/2008
Oh Rin ;0) - I love this chapter with Dean and his teacher. It's just so touching and sweet. And pastor Jim is awesome! I love this little story, poor Dean have a hard time from such an early age just breaks my heart!

Fantabulous as always!

Hugs and luv

Sushi Chi chapter 2 . 8/16/2008
Oh. What a way to start the chapter! "I'm scared, Dad." Wow. That caught my attention.

Ah! The teacher? Wow. I didn't see that one coming. I should have though, eh?

Glad John is thinking of free daycare for Sammy. That's a very normal train of thought. Good. Makes it real and whatnot.

“I know, but he’s a pain in the a- butt sometimes, okay?” Ha! He almost said ASS! Fantastic.

I dunno. Kindergarden? And he can do some math? I used to help a lot in pre-K and first grade classes (okay, not Kindergarden but still, it is in between the two grades) and in first grade it when they started learning math. I think. They did a lot of addition then subtraction later on. And my school was known for learning things early. We're where the smart kids come from. Fun stuff.

“Yes’m,” Dean mumbled into blue jean. Mumbling into blue jean? Adorable. You're little Dean may be cuter than my little Dean.

I love the fact that she noticed that Dean wasn't acting like other kids his age. I think he hardly ever acted his age after Mary died...

Love that he can read and that the color by numbers was too easy for him. Sounds a bit like me. Well, the color by numbers part. I had to go to a speical reading class in the second grade and bit in the third...So...I got over the not reading thing though. Which is fantastic!

So glad that she ignored protocol and hugged him.

"Just, don’t drink the communion wine, it’s pretty nasty.” Nice line. Loved it.

OMG! Sammy with the pews is cute.

Aw. Cute. Dean talking with Jim (JIM!). Nice. And Jim's surprise.

“No!” Dean said, turning the word into the laughing giggle all little children managed to pull off when they thought an adult was a total moron. I love that laugh. It's a good laugh. And I also love how you worded that.

“And milk…” “Well you were getting that whether you wanted it or not,” Jim wouldn't make me drink it would he? I hate milk. It's gross.

OMG! Sammy is so cute. "jabbering sounds" "happy baby burbling sounds" very cute.

"Who, like all small children, grabbed a handful and tried to stuff it into his mouth with varying degrees of success." Really, you should have seen me at my first birthday party. Er. I've seent he pictures. Picture one: look at the cake. Picture two: stick index finger in icing. Picture three: taste the icing and decide it's good. Picture four: stick fist in cake and grab as much as possible. Picture five: shove fist in mouth. Rinse and repeat.

I like how serous Dean is about eating his sandwich.

I love how Dean goes from talking to not talking. Very Dean-like. Shoulder!Dean agrees.

"Usually the church was safe, but sometimes people did horrible things. Before Jim had been pastor, a few murders had taken place in the church, hence his decision to preach in that particular parish –to prevent anything like that from ever happening again." Hey...doesn't he get murdered in that church? Way to do the forshadowing thing.

Oh. I like Dean's reaction. The "I hate you!" and all. Well put.

"Or perhaps lightning, from the way Dean glanced back at the cross, almost seeming hopeful." great line.

"However, how did you explain that to a five year old, betrayed by the god his mother told him to believe in?" Very true. Another good line.

"Sam was fairly calm, and waving the monkey around and playing with it, sometimes obstructing the man’s view" -sarcasm- Oh, that is fun when that happens. Exspeically if you're going down the stairs. -endsarcasm-

" And usually his biggest problem was trying not to laugh at some of the answers." Oh I know. I've worked with little kids before (as stated earlier) and then there is my five year old nephew...

"his voice the word became lower case" love that line

Cindy’s infamous casseroles really do sound infamous.

“Now go, serve the Risen Christ.” I don't know about this line. It seems slightly forced or something. I dunno. My pastor never said anything like that. In fact he'd often quote Captain Jack Sparrow (course this is when the first Pirates movie came out and whatnot) and his impression wasn't that great...

"According to the one year old, animal crackers were for chewing on, then smashing." Seems to be rather true.

"Dean cannoned into his father" Cannoned is a perfect word for this part.

Dean taking a nap is cute. William hasn't taken a nap in years. Which kinda sucks coz it was a nice reprieve, y'know?

"Dean barely moved the entire time other than a soft moan of irritation when John tried to put him down." Adorable!

Dean's right. Scrambled eggs? needs milk and salt and pepper.

I love that Dean makes a better breakfast than John. Though is teacher better not find out that a five year old made that type of breakfast without John around. Y'know what I mean?

Love that Dean can read like a pro!

Oh! The last paragraph is fantastical! Really. It is. True and toast.

Love this story. It's so fantastic! Terrific and whatnot. Spiffy even. So, I would like more. It's so...I've lost the words I want. Which sucks some, y'know? anywho...Love it.
Kay-Dee-S chapter 2 . 8/16/2008
I've noticed that this fic tends to be very sweet and sad. I like it.
QueenKingrid chapter 2 . 8/15/2008
I really really enjoyed this. I love wee chesters and this one was excellent. I love the interaction between Dean and John Dean and paster Jim and Dean and the teacher. It is really fun to get the chance to explore this time in the Winchesters lives. It is very realistic. Nice update. Please update soon!
PADavis chapter 1 . 8/1/2008
Again, a very nice rendition of John, realistically out of patience sometimes with the boys, amazed at what they do and are, exasperated, but finding as much humor as he can.

Silent Dean just charming - pretty sure we all owe a big debt of thanks to Dodger Winslow for adding that to the Winchesters.

I would love to read more weechesters from you - this comes across so well.

Scriptive chapter 1 . 7/31/2008
Oh my god.

This story is amazing.

I loved it.
sammygirl1963 chapter 1 . 7/30/2008
OMG, of course we want to see more. they way you write John with his two young sons is perfect, from worrying about how to take care of a crying infant to getting Dan to talk to him again. My hert just broke for Dean as I read this story knowing how Mary's death affected him so badly! I don't think you could have written John anymore perfectly that you did as he struggles to adjust to life is a widower with wo very young boys!
