...wow. With this backstory and history, Clopin was kinda pushing his luck during the "Topsy Turvy" song in the movie...and so was Esmerelda. No sense of self-preservation. Tsk tsk. :-)

I just read it for the third time, it's so great. I love: "Once again, Clopin Trouillefou had melted before their very eyes. It didn't get old."

"As though an archdeacon with a sweet tooth was perhaps the best thing that had ever happened to Paris."

Also, the way back to the Court ("He stumbled over his own feet, voice caught somewhere between laughter and sobbing. "Who did that? Which one of you idiots did that?" Clopin exclaimed, startled by his own uneven tone.") fit the mood so well.

Gods, and Esmeralda is so cute ("The Archdeacon said you probably needed one, an' I was afraid Mary might forget, 'cause there are so many people in France.").

Oh, my. This story is so sweet and wonderful and touching and funny and exciting...

I'm not really good with children, but I loved reading how Clopin submits to her every whim and will, it was so adorable :).

This was so cute! I love the part where Esmeralda sends her Miracle. And the "I regret that i missed" part was funny as hell.

I really love this one. It's just so freakin adorable. Clopin and little Esme make such a team. I can totally picture her acting like that as a child. She's so cute. And Clopin makes such a good brother. Daddy. Whatever he is. They're just so sweet together.

Plus you had a lot of clever little lines in there. The archdeacon with candy is cute, but "I regret missing" is just brilliant! That's so snarky and histerical, I can just picture it coming out of Clopin's mouth. I also like how you made him interact with the other gypsies. It sort of sets up how he became King of the Court of Miracles.

You should write more stories, these are great!

This was great. I loved it so much. You have no idea. I don't really know why, I just do. And little Esmeralda was probaly the most adorable thing ever. It was exactly how I would picture her being as a child. And Clopin was great.
