I found that story to be beautiful. Toph made a great point in it that I believe in. People should not be judged by how they look or by what's wrong with them. They should be judged by their actions and words. The ugliest person that you meet could also be the nicest. The same goes for the best looking person you know. They could be shallow and mean, acting like they own the world.
